Chapter 121 - She pities Gu Chenyi. (3)

"Oh right, Gu Chenyi!"

Over on this side, only after she had greeted Gu Xuan did it occur to Gu Xi that Gu Chenyi should have walked out with her.

Lo and behold, when Gu Xi turned and looked around herself, she noticed that Gu Chenyi was gone again.

"This is odd. He was here just a moment ago. Where did he go now?" Gu Xi grumbled.

She was just about to turn back around and told Gu Xuan that she didn't know where Gu Chenyi had disappeared to when she saw two cars pulling up in front of them.

One of them was Gu Shao's. That one she recognized. The other one must belong to Gu Xuan.

Gu Xuan looked at the time and said to Gu Shao. "It's almost dinner time. Let's grab dinner together?"

Having said that and seeing that Gu Shao did not object to it, Gu Xuan looked over at Gu Xi with a smile. "Your little uncle got back today and you won an award. Let's go. Little Uncle will treat you. Consider it a celebration."

Of course Gu Xi wouldn't turn that down. She nodded.

Nevertheless, before she could even say "Okay", Gu Xuan had already hopped into his car, getting ready to take off.

As was Gu Shao.

"Em, Gu Chenyi's not here yet." Shouldn't we wait for him?

Gu Xi reminded them.

Had these two forgotten that they still have a son and nephew?

"Don't worry about it. He'll know to go home when it is time," said Gu Xuan nonchalantly as he waved in a carefree way. He saw Gu Chenyi purposefully running into the crowd earlier.

Gu Xi, on the other hand, was dumbfounded when she heard Gu Xuan's words.

Is, is that it? They were going to leave Gu Chenyi there just like that?

Did her little uncle receive Gu Chenyi through reposting and collected likes on Pinduoduo back in the days?

"Let's go," said Gu Shao as well.

"Alright." Gu Xi nodded and got inside the car with Gu Shao.

When they took off, Gu Xi turned and looked one last time and secretly cried her sympathetic tear for Gu Chenyi.

The three of them dined at a restaurant ran by a friend of Gu Xi.

They were about to part and went back to their respective homes afterward.

"Aren't you going to say bye to me, Xixi?" Gu Xuan joked with Gu Xi.

"Bye, Little Uncle." Gu Xi waved at Gu Xuan and added, "Have a save ride back."

That made Gu Xuan felt warm and fuzzy all over again.

A daughter was such a wonderful thing!

Gu Xuan's desire to rub Gu Xi on her head was, once again, deterred by Gu Shao's threatening look.

"We can let the old man knows some about Gu Yaobai's activities in Country D. Let's not mentioned his activities domestically just yet," said Gu Shao to Gu Xuan before they parted ways.

Gu Xuan nodded. "Okay. Will do."

Turning over to Gu Xi, Gu Xuan once again had a kind look on him. "Be sure to come early on Mid-Autumn Festival, Xixi."

"I will," said Gu Xi docilely.

Gu Xi returned to school on Monday.

Gu Xi had yet to step foot on the school ground and attention was already being drawn to her.

Noticing that it was Gu Xi, many started talking about her.

"Look! LooK! Is that Gu Xi?"

"Yeah, that's her!"

"Oh my gosh. I ran into the legendary valedictorian right at the front entrance!"

"Hurry up. Take a picture for me. I want to be in the same photo with valedictorian!"

......

The video from yesterday's competition had been recorded and uploaded onto their school forum. As such, Gu Xi, the transfer student that nobody had heard of previously was now famed.

At the same time, Gu Xi earned herself the same title as Sheng Xiuyan – Goddess Xi.

"I thought God Xiu is already quite legendary and now we have an addition of Goddess Xi." Someone said.

"Having two gods at our school, I feel that our school can just enshrine them now."

"Aye, we all attend the same classes at the same school. Why the gap between different individuals?" said someone else, feeling slightly blue.

A few girls next to them expressed their agreement.

"More importantly, not only do they have good grades, they are also attractive. How can life be so unfair?"
