"What are you thinking about?" Gu Xi waved her hand in front of Dong Mingming.

When Dong Mingming came back to her senses, she looked over at Gu Xi and said, "I am doing some calculations here. If Xiao Xue is 1,450 meters in front of Xiao Xi and Xiao Xue was walking at a speed of 0.2 km / hour and Xiao Xi at 0.22 km / hour from behind. How long will it take Xiao Xi to catch up to Xiao Xue?"

Gu Xi's lips twitched, "......" What was she talking about?

"Nothing." Gu Xi shook her head and said, "I am just preoccupied with something."

She was thinking about what had transpired between the Gu family and Lin Yize, Gu Yaobai, and the big boss behind Gu Yaobai in the novel.

– The Gu family had become much more lowkey since Old Mr. Gu had resigned and had started turning into the business scenes since Big Uncle's injury.

In over ten years' time, the Gu's business had been lowkey but also growing at a steady pace.

All the way until Lin Yize and Gu Yaobai joined forced in trying to overtake the Gu family's marketplace.

In theory, it would be difficult for the two to defeat the Gu family even when joining forces.

Not only that, Gu Yaobai had also taken copies of some Old Mr. Gu's letters and handed them over to his old teacher. These were just regular letters between Old Mr. Gu and some of his friends. Nevertheless, as some of Old Mr. Gu's friends were in high places and some of them overseas, the old teacher claimed that these were evidences of Old Mr. Gu betraying the government and argued that the seemingly-normal letters had hidden messages.

The old teacher being someone in high places and had years of experiences, even though everything was made up out of thin air, others believed him.

As such, the Gu family were being investigated.

Gu Xi listed out everything that these people had done to the Gu family that she could recall and organized them. Then she noticed something quickly.

– If the Gu family were just being investigated, they could totally deny everything. If the Gu family denied them and the government officials had no further proofs, the incident would blow over just like that.

So, how did the Gu family disappear in the end?

That was the part that baffled Gu Xi the most.

In the novel, the big boss had certain "evidences" against the Gu family. Truth was, the Gu family, too, had certain leverage against him as well. The two both had dirt on each other.
