Chapter 131 - It was Gu Xian, along with Gu Chenyi. (2)

Old Mr. Gu had been pining about Mr. Gu bringing Xiao Xi back home. When the two were out earlier, Old Mr. Gu made multiple calls, worried that Gu Shao would not go home for Mid-Autumn Festival.

Gu Shao gave Aunty Mei a look when he heard her and said, "Go and get it ready."

Aunty Mei immediately had a smile on her when Gu Shao said that. "Oh, alright. I'll go have it prepared."

Then, with a big smile on her, she added, "I am sure Old Mr. Gu will be delighted."

Those from that Gu family had been longing for Gu Shao to bring Gu Xi back.

Not only were them looking forward to meet Gu Xi; Gu Xi, too, longed to meet the other Gu family members.

As such, on the eve of Mid-Autumn Festival, Gu Xi gave up sleeping and walked back and forth in front of Gu Shao instead.

Truth was, she wanted to find out what was Gu Shao's arrangement for the next day. Would he be taking her over to the Gu's and, if so, what time would they be leaving.

Inside the study, Gu Shao was finally a little irritated by the girl who was trying to get his attention. He looked away from a stack of document and looked over at Gu Xi, who had already walked back and forth in front of the study for over 10 times.

"Go to bed. We will be heading over to Grandpa's early in the morning tomorrow."

Gu Xi's eyes lit up when she heard that and a smile appeared uncontrollably – Did he say early in the morning? Yay!

Truth was, even Gu Xi had no idea why she was so excited. She just was.

With Gu Shao's definitive answer. Gu Xi returned to her room and went to bed at peace.

The next morning, two guests arrived at the Gu's before Gu Xi and Gu Shao leave for the other Gu family's place.

It was Gu Xian, having Gu Chenyi along with him.

"Let's head over together. You are on our way anyway," explained Gu Xian to Gu Shao.

Truth was, Gu Xian worried that Gu Xi would be nervous meeting a whole big family that she had never met before. So he thought he would first bring Gu Chenyi with him.

That way it would allow Xixi to ease into it.

Gu Shao understood why Gu Xian did what he did but didn't call him out.

Gu Xi, too, somewhat sensed his good will. She gave Gu Xian a docile smile and said, "Little Uncle."

Her "Little Uncle" smoothed Gu Xian out from head to toe.

She then looked over at Gu Chengli, blinked at him, and gave him a friendly smile.

"You––" Now it was Gu Chenyi's turn to feel troubled.

He had been very excited that he would be meeting Gu Xi as her family today.

He even had the first thing he would say to her planned. He would ask her, "Are you surprised? Is this unexpected?"

Lo and behold – the moment the door opened up and Gu Xi saw him, she did seem surprised, but not so much found it unexpected.

Should Xixi not be shocked and asked him their relationship?

Gu Chenyi grumbled to himself.

He couldn't help but looked at Gu Xi and asked in a low voice, "Did you already know that I am part of the Gu family?"

"Yes, I did," said Gu Xi as she nodded calmly.

Gu Chenyi, "......"

"Had you known for a long time?" That would be quite embarrassing if that was the case.

"Quite early."

"When?"

Gu Xi stopped herself from laughing out loud when she saw the "solemn" look on Gu Chenyi. She thought about it some and said seriously, "It was –– when I found out that your surname is also Gu."

"?!" Gu Chenyi's look froze on his face.

So Gu Xi had already figured out their relationship when they first met.

The entire time he thought that Gu Xi had no idea of their relationship and she was nice to him simply because of his sparkling personality.

Gu Chenyi felt bummed out –– What was with this feeling of sudden disappointment.

To think that he had tried so hard the last few days to cover up his identity waiting to give Gu Xi a big surprise... Gu Chenyi suddenly felt like he was a fool.

Seeing the bummed out look on Gu Chenyi, Gu Xi had wanted to comfort him but, worried that she might bust out laughing, she decided against it.
