Gu Xi paused a little when that thought crossed her mind. She seemed to recall that Gu Yanxiao and Gu Chenyi told her that after that Gu Yanlin majored in electronic technology. That was the same as this [Lin] in their group and of the genius level.

Gu Yanlin and this one was also a [Lin]. Could they be the same person?

"Could there possibly be so much of a coincidence?" Gu Xi sighed to herself.

Then again, Gu Xi quickly shook her head and negated that idea.

This [Lin] is a man of few words. Even through the phone, Gu Xi could tell that he was a high and mighty guru type.

As for their Gu Yanlin, he might appear somewhat high and mighty but he was chatty and clingy.

Last night at her grandfather's place, Gu Xi had fallen asleep on the couch while waiting for Gu Shao while Gu Yanlin was going on and on.

If Gu Yaobai had taken pictures of the letters been Old Mr. Gu and his friends, then these photos would certainly be stored either in his phone or some other devices. Judging by the timeline of when Gu Yaobai joined hands with the male lead per the novel, he has yet to hand those materials over to the man behind him.

If she could just break in and delete them, she would be able to avoid a lot of hassles in the future.

Before Gu Xi had time to even be happy, a message from [Lin] came.

Just the four words. Very concise.

Yup. He could not possibly be their Gu Yanlin.

His words, however, served as a reminder for her. She was being too naïve.

She was no longer in a novel and, as such, she couldn't just break the law.

Gu Xi patted herself on her head to make herself forget about that idea.

She, however, did not give up on her thought process.

Gu Shao was indicted in the novel over the leak of an important security system developed by NTN.

That was a setup done by the man behind Gu Yaobai and Lin Yize.

The system developed by NTN was highly classified; however, as the man was very high up and had a big network, he was somehow able to gain access to the core knowledge of NTN's security system.

Through Gu Yaobai's overseas network, they sent the information to Country A before forging a series of fake evidences to accuse Gu Shao of betraying their country.

Even though the evidences were sufficient enough to indict Gu Shao for treason, he was still responsible for the core of the technology being leaked as the head of NTN.

During this period of time, the male lead was somehow able to forged photos of Gu Shao going in and out of illegal venues and stirred up a lot of negative public opinions.

Gu Shao's reputation went from the height of being an expert professor to some sort of a monster overnight.

As such, let it be the evidences, the attitude of the butler, or public opinions, all of them were against Gu Shao.

When one falls, others will join in to make sure one stays down.

And the best way to stop it all from happening was to be able to prove that Gu Shao had never leaked the information.

That wasn't that difficult to accomplish.

Knowing that Gu Yaobai was able to someone get their hands on the information, NTN could just create two sets of security system – a real and a fake one – with the fake one requiring the real one to run.

When the time came, the fake one would have them fooled and producing the real one would be able to proof that NTN's secrets had not been leaked.

Perhaps they would even be able to use the opportunity to prove that it was all the handy work of the man in the dark.

The method seemed simple but carrying it out was not so. If nothing else, if Gu Xi was to go and tell NTN to have a fake security system, nobody would take her seriously.

Judging from the timeline, she still had two more years of time.

She could try to get into NTN within these next two years and join the project. That would make it much easier to accomplish.

NTN had past examples of recruiting minors.

NTN had hired youths who had extraordinary accomplishment in the professional field, top-notch grades, or were very talented as "interns" and allowed them to further themselves though participating in projects.

As such, as long as Gu Xi study hard, kept her grades up, and able to win awards in many creative technology-type competition, much like Gu Yanlin, she would have the opportunity to join NTN.

Gu Xi quietly starting planning her path into NTN.
