Chapter 2: Uncles

----------------------------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------

"Are we just going to wait at this place?" Guini asked her friend as they are now standing where they found the child, Emma, crying yesterday afternoon.

"Well, this is the starting point," Den said as she look at the child who's carrying the doll her mommy and auntie gifted her like her life depends on it.

It is now 10:15 am. It's been more than an hour since they decided to come to the mall so they can look for the child's parents/guardians.

"Mommy, my feet hurt." The child whines looking at Den like she doesn't wanna stand any longer than it is.

They then decided to sit on a bench and bought some snacks so the child will not be bored while they wait. Another hour then passed. But still, no one.

"Hey, what should we do? It's been two hours? Should we just go to the police?" Guini asked her friend, glancing at Emma who watches people pass by.

"Should we? But you heard her story last night, right? About his Uncle Druggie or whatever. You think they're involved in something shady?" Den whispered to her friend. But who would blame the girl? If she and her friend got involved in something they should not, it might even cause their dreams to fly away from them, worst their own lives.

"I still want to live my slacker life to the fullest, you know." She added.

"Then what should we do? We can't just leave the child here." Guini then scratched her head, not really knowing what to do.

"Mommy, I'm bored. I want to play." Emma said looking at the two older women who were whispering something.

"How about we play at the Kid's world upstairs? What do you think?" Den said as she looks at her friend and Emma, changing the mood between them. (Kid's World - like a playground for kids).

"That would be good, I guess? It's better to move around and besides the kid's bored to death." Guini said as she approach Emma. They then started to walk where the Kid's World is.

"Why do kids have tons of energy!?" Den said as she sit on a nearby bench panting. She just played tons with Emma inside the playpen. Emma does not want to play unless she's with any of the adult women. So they have no other choice but to play along.

"It feels like that child has not played for years! Gosh." She mumbled to herself. She then grabbed her phone as she looks at the photos she took of Emma. Every photo has Emma smiling brightly. She then played a short video of her playing at the slide.
