ESTE HAD BEEN SITTING IN HER ROOM reading when there was a knock on the door. It was late evening by that point. Jasper and Alice were away, Emmett was watching the tv loudly downstairs, Edward had already left to go watch Bella and Carlisle was in his study deeply entranced by work. Este therefore knew exactly who was at the door but she wasn't sure why.

"Yeah?" She called. Rose pushed the door open and stared at Este thoughtfully for a moment. She had her hair tied in a low ponytail, hair falling out at the front. Rosalie always looked well presented even when she was just laying around the house. She still had on a white skirt and a hoodie which must've belonged to Emmett considering the size.

"Can I talk to you?" Rosalie asked as she shut the door lightly behind her.

"Of course you can" Este nodded as she placed her book on the table beside the bed and beckoned for Rosalie to join her. She did so, sitting on the empty space created by the cream sheets as she pulled her knees to her chest and rested her head on the headboard behind her,

"What's wrong?" Este asked, concern riddled in her tone.

"I need to talk to someone who actually understands" Rose turned to face her, "because no one's listening, everyone's ignoring me even though I'm making the most sense and I'm sick of everyone making it out to seem as though I'm being villainous and crazy or deliberately trying to stop Edward from being happy because that's not true"

Este watched her carefully, she hadn't noticed how stressed Rosalie had been up until this point. Most of her attention had been centred on Edward for obvious reasons but now this made her feel guilty. Maybe she should've been paying more attention to all her kids, it was evident that Rose wasn't coping well with Alice's vision either.

"I know that you're not happy about this" Rosalie continued, "that you don't want Edward and Bella together, that you know it can only end badly. I know you'll listen to me"

"Of course I'll listen" Este nodded, "whatever you need"

"I'm scared Este, not just scared... I'm terrified" Rosalie's eyes mirrored this, "and they aren't taking me seriously. I know something bad is going to come of this and frankly I don't care about the girls safety. I'm sorry but she isn't anything to me, she's a stranger as much as that teacher who died the other day was a stranger. Why should I feel guilty about someone I don't even know? But what I do know is that this is going to hurt our family, I just know it. What if Jasper snaps? What if Bella dies like any other human and Edward doesn't get over it? She is human, fragile and temporary. We could all easily kill her... not just Jasper, any of us. It could happen at any time and whether or not I care about what that would do to her... I care about what that would do to us"

Rosalie let out a loud sigh as she finished, turning very quickly to face Este as though wanting to know her immediate reaction and not the thought out one that she was trying to come up with.
