She walked down the halls with a commanding force of shadow in her face. Her hair fell like silk behind her, glistening in the candlelight. It flickered on the stone walls, over the paint that trailed over each space of brick.

Her boots hit off the floor and with each breath she felt the wave of anxiety spill over the sides of her minds. It traced over her eyes like ripples in a lake. She felt an invisible heartbeat in her chest getting faster and faster.

Each step led her further down into cold and she could feel ice reaching up the cuffs of her jeans. Questions hit her mind like knives. Mistakes, beginnings, ends. Yet everything else seemed to swirl in warmth.

"Come back to me"

Este stopped and considered what she was doing. Her mind buzzed like bees in a nest. Everything felt wrong but she supposed it had been like that for a while.

She'd thought of the risks but everything else seemed to weigh higher in her favour. She wanted nothing more than to feel her own mind again. To feel free of the bonds this parasite had enclosed onto her brain. She was sick of the pain, sick of losing everything she had, everything she'd dreamt of

Este pushed open the double doors and walked down into the room, leaving all her worries towards the stairs as she stared towards the back wall.

"I need your help" Este stated clearly, "and there's no one else I can go to anymore"

Caius sat up straighter in his chair, a glint in his eyes.
