During the following week, nothing big happened. You settled in the Mission Control Center, along with Xeno, Chrome and the other scientists. It almost turned into a roommate situation. Whenever breaks were taken, you'd bring out a chess board or spare maze puzzles, or you'd just chat. Meanwhile on your end, once you got used to the whole situation, you could go back to work on your radio show. With the new level of technology here in this stone world, it could finally be heard all around the world, and you'd give regular updates on the Moon mission.

"By transmitting radio waves between ship and Earth, the ship's current position can be measured based on transmission time." Xeno said at some point. "Those same waves also come with the doppler effect, which allows us to measure the ship's current speed."
"Dawplure effect?" Taiju tilted his head.
"You know how an ambulance goes 'wee-oo wee-oo' when it's racing towards you," Chelsea explained. "but when it's moving away, the sound gets lower, like 'wah-woo wah-woo'? That's the doppler effect!"
"Position and speed." Xeno continue. "Even with our astronauts off in space, we can keep track of their movements!"
"Again with those waves." Gen smiled, his eyebrows furrowed. "Useful little things, aren't they? Working for us in cellphones and microwave ovens too."
"Right now, Senku and friends are going 38,000km/h." Ukyo said.
"Th-Thirty-eight thousand?!" Yo exclaimed while you whistled, impressed.
"Even airplanes only fly at about 1,000km/h, right?" Minami asked.
"Indeed." Tsukasa nodded. "Spaceships are the fastest vehicles created by mankind."

"But, how can Senku-chan and the others figure out their own position?" Gen tilted his head.
Chrome thought for a moment before gasping.
"I know!"
He ran out and came back with a sextant, inviting everyone outside to pitch his theory.
"A sextant on the spaceship?" Gen repeated when he was done.
"The tool used for location when we were out at sea?" Kinrou asked.
"Damn right!" Chrome nodded. "They can also use it in space! By glancing at the stars," he pointed the tool at the sky. "they can figure out their position!"
"One of Chrome's flashes of inspiration!" Suika smiled.
"Brought to you by the newbie scientist tag team!"

"An elegant low-tech solution employed by the early Apollo missions." Xeno smiled.
"Of course they already knew!" Chrome and Suika whined.
You and Ukyo chuckled.
"But it's still amazing that such a primitive tool can help one navigate to the Moon." he said.
"Especially since they'll have to make a tour around the Moon before landing, at some point they'll pass by the far side of the Moon," Xeno added. "and their communications with Earth will be cut until they come back around. At that point, they'll rely only on their own eyes and measurements to navigate through the looming void of space."
You nodded, looking up at the Moon, and smiled.
"For them, that won't be a problem though."
"Agreed." he smiled.

Another few days passed before the Senku11 approached its destination. Ryusui and Kohaku were revived.
"Now, regarding which of us will step foot on the Moon. Since the plan was to only send three folks in the lunar lander."
"As the science guy," Senku spoke. "I should hang back in the command module and-"
"Nope!" Ryu folded his arms. "The command module's mine! You're here representing the scientists of our new stone world, so you, Senku, will walk on the Moon!"
While everyone was surprised, you were touched.
"Aww~!" you smiled with a hand on your chest. "This is just like with photo cameras!"
"Really Ryusui?" Kohaku smirked. "Don't you 'desire' the honor of stepping foot on the Moon?"
"Haha! I'm a captain first and foremost, and a captain must be the last one on board!" he snapped his fingers. "Three will walk on the Moon, while only one steers the ship! Sure, I'd love to play every role, but if I gotta choose, I'm taking the more exclusive trophy! Am I wrong?!"
There was a short moment of silence.
"Sure." Senku finally said. "Let's leave it at that."
'These guys just refuse to admit that they care about each-other.' you sighed, smiling.

Senku, Stanley and Kohaku got all geared up and went in the lunar lander unit. It detached itself from the main ship and descended to the Moon. There was a camera on it which was broadcasted worldwide for everyone to see the landing.
"The whole world is watching and listening~." Gen smiled. "Have we thought of some apt first words for this Moon landing?"
"Oh you know what?" you lightly tapped his arm. "That completely slipped my mind! It should be something iconic!"
"Ah!" Taiju shouted. "Somehow, I got one of them flashes of inspiration! Here's the perfect line for them to say!" he stood tall and inhaled deeply. "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!"
"Baaaad!" Chrome and the other stone world people were blown away. "How'd you come up with something cool like that?!"
"He got it from Armstrong." you chuckled. "The first man who walked on the Moon, those were *his* first words."
"Dangit!" Taiju held his head. "Sorry about that! Guess that's why the line was already in my noggin!"
