Guess what?! Strap on, seat-belt on for this!
Why-man's coming from the Moon! Straight from the fucking Moon!
"We really are not short on plot twists!" you exclaimed to yourself, trying to wrap your head around this news.
The others looked at you, a bit confused but completely understanding your reaction.

Let's go back a bit. Here's what happened: everyone got depetrified and prepared to get back to the Kingdom of Science. And just then you received a call from Ruri but it was soon cut off by another message from your good friend the why-man!
Except this time, he actually talked! With Senku's voice!
"12,800,000 meters. 1 second."
And what's scarier?! 12,800,000 meters was the diameter of the Earth!
Listening to it (after making sure the petrification device wasn't around to be activated), you and Ukyo said that this 'voice' didn't sound natural at all, kinda like a vocaloid.

"Hey. What if..." you said holding up both your indexes. "it's an evil AI, that thought that humanity wasn't worth it and that's why it petrified just the humans. And because Senku was the first one, and maybe even the only one who talked to it, it took his voice and imitated it!"
"Oh that's a good one!" Chrome said, knowing what AI was after you once explained the plot of '2001: Space Odyssey' to him.
"Evil AI? I have a hard time believing that..." Gen said.
"Maybe why-man wasn't even the one who made the device!" Yo folded his arms.

"And why was it on the island to begin with?" Kaseki asked.
"Oh that's a good question!" Chrome exclaimed as you nodded.
"Having someone who knows about the device's history could give us a clue..." Senku said as he looked over some sketches and notes he made while observing the device.

And so, by an incredible coincidence, the one statue Taiju picked out of the water by mistake happened to have a tattoo in the shape of the device! You quickly put the guy back together and revived him. His name was Matsukaze and he has apparently been petrified for a very long time ago, given the crack on his forehead and the way he spoke so elegantly. Also Ginrou looked a lot like his former lord and now he swore to serve and protect him as well, which just made Ginrou even more cocky.
He explained that a long time ago, a bunch of petrification devices fell down from the sky.

And you were pretty fed up at this point. Because not only did you learn that there were MULTIPLE petrification weapons, but also that they FELL DOWN FROM THE SKY.
"That is way too many bombshells!" you exclaimed, stepping away from the exposition corner.

You were hoping to catch your breath with a nice warm dinner. But then the science team came back with their report!
They made an antenna to try and trace down where exactly the why-man's message was coming from. It was coming from the Moon.
"Why-man is on the Moon." Senku said, casually eating his dinner.
You held the bridge of you nose and let out a long sigh.
'Our brains can never catch a break from being blown huh?'

"Is that even possible?!" Kinrou exclaimed. "How can this be?!"
"Heh." Ryu smiled. "If we ignore this and don't come up with a plan, it'll be our doom!"
'Wait.' your eyes widen, putting two and two together. 'No way.'
"But an enemy on the moon..." Kohaku said. "We have no hope of reaching them, alone fighting back!"
"Senku." you looked at him as he placed his now empty plate aside. "Are we...?"
"Yep." he smiled at you. "We're going to the Moon."
You loudly gasped and held your head, stars in your eyes.

"Dude no way!!!"
"Oh now you're excited?" Gen gave you a weird look.
"How can I not be?! We're going to the fuckin Moon!" you squealed.
Senku smiled seeing your newfound enthusiasm.

So the next day, you guys supplied the ship and sailed back to the Kingdom of Science after installing a radio station on the island so you could still communicate. Soyuz stayed behind to take care of his new land (right, because the late great leader was his dad all along), and Kirisame and Matsukaze went along with you.
