Magma stepped into the village, shouting one sentence:
"Chrome was taken prisoner by the Tsukasa Empire!"
As soon as he said that, Kohaku ran passed him, sword in hand. While the others tried to stop her, Senku casually converted the telephone into a megaphone.
"Come back Lioness!" he exclaimed.
"I'm not a lioness!!!" she stopped to glare at him.

Her father took this opportunity to grab her, preventing her from running. Of course she struggled.
"Kohaku, are you crazy?!" Turquoise asked. "There's no way you can do anything marching into the enemy camp all by yourself!"
"Huh?! So then what should we do?! Just abandon Chrome?!"

You watched as Senku climbed up the storehouse's roof, he grabbed the science flag.
"Kukuku, if you can't do it with one person, than we'll just have to go with everyone, won't we?"
Everyone looked up at him in shock. He raised the flag.
"Kingdom of Science, time for an all out offensive!"

You mentally frowned, not liking the word 'all out offensive'. Sounds too war-like, even though it really was a war...
"Uh...Are you sure?" you hesitantly asked.
He nodded.
"Now that we have their spy, there's no need for us to wait for anything else." he climbed down. "We'll move all our troops and set up camp right next to Tsukasa's empire. From there, we can actually make the plan to rescue Chrome a reality."

You tilted your head to the side. Just by that move, he knew what you were thinking.
"Remember," he said. "this will have the least bloodshed."
You nodded. Yet, in a moment of pessimism, you thought:
'That doesn't mean there won't be any though...'

"Are you actually thinking of taking along all the science supplies?" Gen asked, looking over all the gathered boxes, bags and jars.
"If we don't, the Kingdom of Science would ten billion percent have no chance of winning."
"There's no way we can carry all of this!" you gestured towards them. "Even with our number."
"Kukuku, that won't be a problem." he turned towards Kaseki.

You followed his gaze. It's true that you were curious about what he was working on. He seemed to have successfully put together a giant round thing, looked like a wheel.
"A wheel?!"
You quickly looked at Senku. The huge exited smile he had made you smile in a similar fashion.
"I'm making a car!" he exclaimed. "Exiting isn't it?!"
"Oh my god! So cool~!"
"It is, I guess..." Gen said, bewildered as always. "Even in a situation like this, these two seem like they're having fun..."

Watching Senku as he worked on the car's blueprint made your heart skip a beat. He was all cheerful and exited, with a shade of pink on his cheeks, laying on the ground like a kid who's drawing.
Figuring it'd take a while, you took your trumpet.
"I still haven't got the chance to play it yet." you smiled.
"Oh yes! I was wondering what sound it makes!" Suika smiled.
You thought for a second and looked back at the instrument.
"No offense Suika, but I want to be alone when I play it for the first time."
That made Senku glance at your direction.

"Nothing against you and the others or anything." you waved your hand. "I just feel like it'd be, like, channeling the instrument-It sounds stupid I know." you chuckled.
Senku rolled his eyes.
"I don't get it." the little girl tilted her head.

"Like, okay." you gestured to your trumpet. "Trumpets, and I guess wind instruments in general, are my favorite instruments, because unlike others, they can only play one note at a time. So I like to think that they're able to translate the musician's raw feelings. Like...it's just them and the instrument...or something-it's personal is what I'm saying." you paused, thinking this was stupid, but you kept going. "That's why...when I play it for the first time, I wanna be alone."
"I think I understand now." Suika smiled.
"Oh good!" you nervously scratched the back of your neck. "Okay, I'll be going now."

She waved as you walked away. Senku looked back at his blueprint, wondering if what you said was really how you felt, or just some crappy excuse. Then he noticed an error he made on another page. He loudly groaned and ruffled his hair. It happened from time to time, and every time it was just frustrating. Now he'll have to start from that point all over again! As he was wracking his brain, he could feel a headache coming.
He sat with his arms folded, deep in thoughts. After a while, he looked up, finally hearing the trumpet. It was resonating in the silence of nature, with only the rustling of the trees to accompany the melody. At first, it was a bit grunty, probably because it was the first time it was played since it was made, but after a moment, the sound cleared. It was slow, soothing. It didn't sound like anything Senku heard from you before. This was new. He wondered when you composed it.
