"Hang on." Senku looked at Chrome once the four of you came back. "How did you know that the original north star was off?"
"Ooooh!" he seemed happy to hear that question, especially coming from him. "Apparently even our amazing Senku doesn't know this stone! I just happened to pick it up on a barren mountain! It's a super-insane stone!"
He picked up a basin, filled it with water and placed a little rock floating on a leaf in the center.
"If you hang it or float it," he said as you and Senku looked at it. "somehow it always points exactly to north! Insane right?!"

"It's a magnet!" you both said at the same time.
"You two already know what it is! Dammit!" he fell down in defeat. "So it's called a magnet?!"
Senku picked up the little rock and smile.
"Not bad at all Chrome!" he said. "As long as we have a magnet, we can take our first step down the road map! The dawn of the iron age... Now this is exiting!"
You wanted to shout your joy, but it was late at night and you were tired. So you just smiled and let out a single word.
"Neat!"

The next day, the Kingdom of Science went to the river. With the magnets you picked up earlier, you were collecting iron-sand.
Fortunately for you, Kohaku gave you a spare swimwear she had. And you did your very best to focus on the face whenever you looked at Senku.
'In 3,700 years...He did gain some muscles.' you thought as you sneaked a peak.
As soon as you thought that, your cheeks warmed up and you dived your head in the water, telling yourself to focus.

"Whoaaa! So much is sticking to it!" Kohaku exclaimed as she looked at her magnet. "Look at all this strange black sand!"
"That's magnets for you baby!" you smiled.
"Wow, that lioness is really something." Senku said as Chrome and him were taking a long break on a rock. "Are all the people in your village like that?"
"Nah, we've got plenty of gorillas with superhuman strength." Chrome paused and looked over at you. "What about (Y/n)? Despite being full of energy, she doesn't show much."
"(Y/n)..." Senku smiled. "She's more of a wolf that just happened to warm itself up to me."
"Really? Oh man!"

As Chrome took a sip of water, Senku looked at you. His smile faded.
"Though..." he continued, more quietly. "Ever since she got out, she's been more of a puppy."

"But anyway," Chrome said. "Kohaku's the only gorilla in our village that's nimble and agile."
"Who the hell are you calling a gorilla?!" she shouted. "And why are we the only one that's collecting all the iron sand?!"
"Yeah!" you added. "What is this?! 1950?! You guys are 3,760 years behind! Get woke!" you puffed a chuckle, your angry mask breaking.
"You guys try being agile and work too!" Kohaku, who was actually angry, ordered with another one of her scary face.
"Our bad." the boys collectively said before getting back to work.

A while later, you felt Senku tapping your arm. You looked up to see him pointing to whatever he just noticed. Standing straight, you followed his gaze and saw a watermelon, floating to your direction. What was creepy about this was the fact that it went counter current. So you were both pretty unsettled. And when the watermelon suddenly jumped out of the water. You screamed and fell back, and because you held on to Senku's arm, and he still had very little strength, he lost his balance and you both fell in the water. The sentient watermelon turned out to be a little girl.

"Oi! What is wrong with you?!" he asked, sitting up.
"I'm sorry! I got scared!"
You looked up and made a mental note that yes, Senku was still rocking the wet hair look, going down at all.
"(Y/n)."
He looked into your eyes while running a hand through his hair and you felt your heart skip a beat.
"Let go of me!"
"Yes sorry!" you finally let go of his arm and quickly stood up.

"Suika, what are you doing here?" Kohaku patted the head of the girl. "Did you follow us?"
She nodded.
"Suika? Is that a name?" Senku turned towards Chrome.
"It's a nickname... I think...? Because she's always wearing that Suika shell."
He recognized the rock she was holding and snatched it out of her hand.
"Damn you Suika!" he glared at her. "You brought one of my magnets without asking!"

You then notice the iron sand on the magnet.
"Do you wanna help us?" you asked.
She nodded again, and started to try and collect iron sand with just her hands as she talked.
"Since I'm always wearing this on my head, I'm never able to be useful to anyone. I'll probably be like that when I grow up too..." she stood up. "So that's why whenever Suika sees someone that needs help-!"
"Alright, enough with the monologue already." Senku cut her off.

She sadly looked down and you felt bad for her. Senku smiled.
"Seriously though, I'm grateful." he walked towards her. "The Kingdom of Science turns down no one. We will accept any help we can get, big or small. Besides, a little runt like you would actually be ten billion times better at gathering sand." he handed her another magnet. "Kukuku, give it your best shot Suika." and with that, he walked away.

"This is the first time Suika has ever met someone who didn't ask why Suika wears this." she said, still looking at him.
You smiled when you noticed her face getting redder under her watermelon shell, thinking she was very cute.
"He must've realized that Suika didn't want to show her face, and so he didn't push the matter!"
"You don't know Senku that well yet." Kohaku said. "That's giving him way too much credit."
"He just doesn't care about faces," Chrome frowned. "as long as you'll add to his forces."

But Suika didn't listen and went in the water.
"Suika is gonna get tons of that black sand!"
You laughed.
"What are you Momotaro?!" Chrome yelled. "Don't fricking drown!"

What he just said made your brain click, and so did Senku's. You turned towards him.
"How do you know about Momotaro?" you asked.
"Oh, you know him too?"
"Sister Ruri tells us all kinds of stories!" Suika said.

"And now that I think about it," Senku said as he walked back to you. "how do you know about gorillas too?"
"Right!" your eyes widen in realization. 'Senku you clever boy!'
"Do they live in the wild here?" he asked.
"I've never actually seen one in the flesh." Kohaku said.
"Yeah, but there's a gorilla in Momotaro, right?"
"Wha-No!"
"Are you high?!" Senku glared at him.
"He befriends one by giving it some kibi-dango, doesn't he?"
"I mean..." you said. "That part's right but-"
"There's the bear, the lion, the gorilla and the crocodile!" he listed.
"When did Momotaro became wild jungle war stories?!" Senku exclaimed.
"God dammit! Even in the stone world reboots still suck!" you ran a hand through your hair.

After making a pause for the joke (though they didn't understand it, and Senku was too focus on thinking, you felt kinda lonely), you looked back to Kohaku.
"And it's this Ruri who told you this?"
She nodded.
"I've heard tons and tons of stories from my sister Ruri. And whenever there's any difficult words in them, she always took the time to teach them to me."
You looked over to Senku, to see what he'd conclude of this. He smiled.
"Kukuku, all of the sudden, this Ruri girl in piquing my interest."
"Yeah, we gotta heal her fast." you nodded.
"No matter what stands in our way..."
'He sounds so much like a villain.' you smiled.

"Hold on." Chrome looked at him with a serious expression. "When you say Ruri piqued your interest... What did you mean by that?"
"Huh?" he said, taken aback by his change of behavior.
"Senku... Senku... Senku-sensei~." Kohaku whispered to him.
He turned towards her and you leaned in to listen.
"Chrome has a crush on Ruri." she quietly said.
You puffed a laughed, as if it wasn't obvious already.
"Ah~, so that's how it is." Senku said. "I should have guessed."

The three of you began walked away smiling.
"Still, Chrome is like a little kid when it comes to that stuff." she continued. "But the fact that he's not even aware of it is kinda cute."
"What are you guys talking about?!" Chrome shouted.
"Oh I'm sure he'll realize it someday." you said. "There will be a point when he realizes how special she is, by the way he feels when she's here and when she's not. And how he cherishes the time spend with each-other. He'll put two and two together..."

You were about to keep going when you realized that you were digging too deep into this for it to not be suspicious. So you quickly turned the subject back, not daring to look at Senku. Even though he was not interested in this talk of heart and feelings and whatnot.
"Either that or he really IS a kid!"
"Who you calling a kid?!" you heard him yell behind you.
