The Moving World

To avoid confusion, I would like to add something. There are three factions in the Central Assembly in this story. A brief description of each ideology is as follows.

Conservative: Pope > Emperor

Orthodox: Pope < Emperor

Reformist: Pro-Fasta III

The main difference between the Orthodox and the Reformist is whether or not they are dissatisfied with the Papal State.

"What in the world is going on!?"

The people, consisting of commoners, gathered in the square in front of the palace and crowded in front of the main palace gate. The news was that the Crown Prince was alive and that he had declared a legitimate government in the country across the Central Ocean. In their hands was a morning newspaper published by the World Magic Telecommunications Company. However, only about 20 to 30 percent of the population could read the newspaper properly. Most of them learned of its contents from someone who could read.

"It says that the Crown Prince said that the current emperor was the mastermind behind the assassination!"

"He tricked us!?"

"Drag the traitor from his throne!"

"The government must explain!"

The main palace gate, which the people had rushed to, was about to be breached. The Imperial Guard gathered in front of the main gate and held them back to prevent the commoners from entering the palace grounds.

"Silence! All of you, silence!"

The Imperial Guards, with their shields at the ready to halt the people's progress, looked like riot police clashing with the demonstrators. However, the guards, which numbered no more than 10.000 against the hundreds of thousands of angry people, had seen its limits.

The head of the Imperial Guard, Ciri Systena, was entering the office. He was the one who, along with his Imperial Guard officers, had been responsible for the deaths of the imperial family two months earlier, in favor of Alphon, who was still only the emperor's younger brother.

"Citizens, upon learning the news from the Telecommunications Company, are gathering in the square in front of the palace and are turning into a mob! We are now sending the Imperial Guards... but I don't know how long they will be able to hold out."

Ciri, in a cold sweat, reported the urgent situation.

"Tell the headquarters of Imperial Domain Army that martial law has been declared for the entire capital by Imperial Decree! Also mobilize the Imperial Guard to suppress the people and stop the uprising!"

"Yes, at once!"

Upon hearing the order, Ciri immediately left the room. Soon after, the new Prime Minister, Collantor Kanzacy, who had replaced Wilchen Linfoid, entered the room. He had originally been one of the Conservative members of the Central Assembly, but only a few weeks before he had been appointed by Alphon I as the new prime minister. He had ousted Wilchen from his ministerial post after a long period of service to the former emperor, Fasta III. Collantor, out of breath, reported to Alphon.
