This is an old Niji idea I decided to finally write. I know not many people are fans of the Vinsmoke brothers but I do enjoy writing about them, so enjoy if this is your kind of fic.

Marriage agreement:
If either countries are to go into peril, financially, politically or structurally, YN LN and Niji Vinsmoke are to be married, no questions asked.

Well the day had finally come. My country had spiraled politically out of control. After my brother took the position as king, the entire country started going under. So I had to marry my old friend, Niji.

It was all part of being royalty. You could have to marry anyone without your permission at any time, and I my case, it was me and my favorite blue-haired bozo from the next country over.

I had to leave and go to Germa without almost any notice this morning. My brother came into my room and had me pack my stuff. "Get up, we're leaving for Germa." He said, a blank expression plastered on his face. "Why? Why do I have to get up this early to go to that stinky country?" I asked, still a little sleepy. "Armouria's failing. You're marrying Niji in a week. Get up we have to go." He said, a frown finally on his face. "Wait... WHAT?!" I yelled, finally sitting up. "Yep you're getting married. Now pack your stuff so you can eat breakfast before we leave." My brother said, fiddling with his collar.

He left and I sat on the bed in my room. "Wow. I... I'm getting married." I said, looking down at the bed. My entire life changed in the matter of five minutes, and I had no time to even process anything that had just happened.

So I got up and packed my clothing. I stuffed all of it into my suitcase, then quickly got dressed and went downstairs. "Yo YN we got donuts." My brother said as he sat in the kitchen. "Be quiet for a moment, brother." I said in a vile tone. He shut up, but he continued to poke my face with a vanilla-icing frosted donut. I grabbed the donut out of his hands and stuffed it into my mouth.

"Ok, explain to me further what the heck you want me to do?" I asked him. "Marry Niji. Give us a political advantage. And maybe move out. Just a thought." He said, still stuffing his face with donuts. I sighed. "Wow ok so I actually am getting married." I said, sighing. "Yep." My brother said, his mouth full with round confectionaries.

We left for the country not long after my brother had finished his donuts. I slept the entire ride over, but when I got there the ship's horn woke me up. "Oi YN, your future husband is out there at the dock, go greet him." My brother said, shoving me outside before him. There, both Judge and his son, Niji were standing before me. Niji had a small, but clearly fake smile on his face. "Well hey Niji." I said as my brother and Judge decided to talk over the business part of this exchange. "Hey YN... I'm sorry about all this. I know you don't want to marry me, and I don't want to marry you, so this sucks for both of us." He said, sighing. "Well, at the very least we're good friends, so at least I'm not marrying Yonji or Ichiji." I said, a messy smile on my face. Niji put his hand on my shoulder then leaned really close to me. "If you're gonna kiss me I'm gonna slap the crap out of you." I said, frowning. "No, dumbass, I have a plan to get both of us out of here so we don't have to get married, but you have to keep quiet." He said, a frown on his face. "Alright." I said, nodding.

Niji, Judge, my brother and I all walked over to the castle. The townsfolk stared at us as we casually walked through town, giving us death-glares and bad looks. I nervously grabbed Niji's hand. "Hey. YN, there's no reason to fret. These people won't hurt my family." He said, squeezing my hand a little. "Well, when people are looking at you like they're about to jump you and tear your eyes out, how am I not supposed to be scared." I said, glaring at him.

We made it to the castle, then Niji and I broke off from the other two and we went up to his room. "YN, you see that window?" He asked as he closed the door. "Yep, is that where I'm gonna escape?" I asked, smiling. "Right on the mark. We have to wait for tonight, when the guards aren't around." Niji said, smirking. "Alright, sounds like a plan." I said, smiling.

I waited through the day until the moon was high over Germa 66. Niji and I had already gotten into bed, which was him sleeping on the bed and me on a couch in the corner of the bedroom. "Hey, YN. Wake up." He said, shaking my shoulder. "Niji." I said, sitting up. "Everything's ready to go." He said, smirking. "Ahaha, Niji, you wear cute pajamas." I said, pulling on his pajama shirt. "YN, you're the one who isn't even wearing pajamas." He said, smirking. "I was ready for the mission." I said, smiling. "Alright, whatever you say." He said, chuckling.

Niji went and unlocked the window. "Ok YN, it's time for you to leave." He said as I walked over. I was halfway out the window when I looked back at him. "You... wanted me to marry you, didn't you?" I asked him. "Maybe... yes. I did want you to marry me, I'm sorry." He said, sighing. "But... I only want what's best for you, YN. I truly love you... but I don't want you to be with me if you don't desire it like I do." He said, a sad look on his face. I stepped down from the window and kissed his cheek. A blush flew across Niji's face. "I'm sorry, but I don't want to marry you." I said, sighing. "But I would love a different kind of relationship with you." I said, smiling. "You mean-" He said as I cut him off. "I would love to go out with you. But I don't want to get married yet." I said, smiling. Niji squeaked in excitement. "I love you, YN!" He said, hugging me tight. "I love you too." I said, kissing him tenderly.

"I have to leave now." I said, sighing. "Alright, goodbye, YN. Please return again." He said, smiling. "Goodbye, Niji. I'll be back!" I said as I jumped out of the window.
