The only thing between You and I is the crosswalk;

All the problems that are a few paces in front of us,
All those unfamiliar eyes watching our every move,
All these white lines mocking us, only for a few strides when we collide,
All of the black ones that layer the white, step by step, getting closer to you,
All of those cars, threatening to run us over in every given moment
All those lenient, consequent changes of the stoplight,
All these challenges in the road, in this crosswalk, we walk on, is a chance,

Don't resent the crosswalk,
'Cause it'll be the story of how we got together,
On all those whites and blacks, we found ourselves in our arms,

Between You and I
