Snowflakes are falling down the gloom
In a wintery wasteland, we are surrounded
Gleaming with sheets of silver crystals
Iridescent and imbued with holiday gleeRed and green, here and there, they are everywhere
Mistletoes of differing kissing capacities
Pinecones with every scent Winter can offer
And the voice of children singing joyfully
Mixed in the cacophony of festivitiesMy breath comes out as mist
And my cheeks are flustered red
The cold seeping to every bone
While I clutch on tighter
To my knitted sweater
Hoping it would make me warmerThe sun in the horizon is dipping
Splashing the environment
With bouncing oranges and purple
Hues of different colors dancing on the snow
Like the cosmos in a kaleidoscope
Fragments of golden sunlight
Touches me with the softest of touches
Giving me determination
Not wavering in the slightestWhether you are with me or not
I'm waiting for your return
And I'll be here,
A mistletoe in my hand
Eager to be above us
On our first Christmas
