Slightly Backwards

Like time wouldn't have done, I should've gave you more of it,
Moving along the lines, I was supposed to revolve around you,

Now gone, I couldn't stop myself,
Stop myself from circling the last place
Where you left your tears,
The place where your decisions were made, where silence grew louder than usual, and haunting footsteps that seemingly tried to escape,

You're gone, and I'm stuck in a hologram of your heart,
Static, monotonous, barely there, but it's still here,
Unbearably transparent,
And I'm attracted like a magnet,
Like a moth mesmerized by the flame.

I see you, now, walking down the street; completely normal, all problems in the past, smiling so softly, not a care in the world,
I want that again, I want you again,
Let's forget the together again,
And let me promise you to never leave again,

But, I can't seem to move,
You're walking away from the crossroad,
And I'm here in my lines wrapped around me,
Reaching my hands up, you turn from the corner,
And you're gone, just in a blink of an eye,

You're very much there,
And I'm more slightly backwards
