There was this girl named Luna, and she's my moon,

I tell her everyday that I love her, and we never knew that it was too soon,

Luna was bright as the stars that surrounded her,

Shone brighter than mine that glowered dimmer and dimmer,

Time was no burden to our rebel hearts,

But it did make the sun come up, and killed the stars with a ray of darts,

Her shy behavior was comparable to the night city light,

It was dark, shrouded with a mischievous mystery, but she had a personality that resembled the nightlife,

She always got the moon over her head,

That silver-lined everything about her that is beautiful, a transcendent silhouette,

Luna was my lover, and now we're as dead as a dying firefly,

Luna was my moon, but the thing that she didn't know, that she was also my night sky
