The Theories Only Us Could Remember

I'm crying out theories in my bed,
Leaking out dark splotches of memories,
Trying to stop the storm of polaroid films,
Staining my bedsheets with memories of us
Leaving all gaps in the fabric full of my heartache

I'm crying out butterflies up in the lighthouse,
Blinding light illuminating the ominous blues of the fluttering wings
Melancholy trickling down silently as the winds pick up like blades striking
I'm at the top of the ceiling, iron rustings painting me a new shade of something familiar

The gales are menacing, approaching like a secret ready to be revealed
Our oblivion calling out in howling gusts, tombstones preparing to be carved with our names in it
Funeral orchids aching to become flower crowns
Left to become a ghost, a ghost left in the heels of their shoes

And all it takes was one simple photograph to capture it all,
In one moment of stillness, everything seems to have been hit with a pause button,
Taking it all in, taking a breath, letting it out, letting everything out
And once you opened your eyes:

You're back in time.
Unharmed.
Dry and undamaged.
Lots of theories, lots of questions.
Confused. Indecisive.
You.

You are still you.

Painful remorse, regret and sorrow,
Standing here, again, on the golden hour by the seashore;
I will never forget those strands of blue hair
I will never forget our journey
I will never forget those morning crusades
I will never forget our moments

I will never forget you.

So, please, I'll remember you forever
Even when reality tears us apart,
I'll remember you

'Cause I took photos for a reason,
And the reason was to carry
Broken frgaments of
Memories

I'm crying out theories in my bed,
Hoping to make one made out of you,
Because my worst decision that I could never alter
Was never taking a photo of you

Time or destiny might take you away,
But I will always make you more real
Than anything this world
Can offer

I'm on the road to remembering;

Maybe my theories would all make sense
Until my mind can understand again, our
Everlasting innocence
