"It's not fair!" Sonali cried, hanging onto our oldest sister's arm. "You never said you'd go back!"

I bit the inside of my cheeks, witnessing my sisters being devastated by Maya's sudden anouncement. Holding my tongue back to avoid crying, I said nothing as my mother pulled the eldest sibling into a warm, much needed hug.

"You know you can visit us whenever you want." She mumbled, voice trembling, which was extremely rare with Mom. "We love you so much, my little baby."

I could tell this evening was going to end with five crying messes. Trust me, this was bound to happen.

And it did.

It was only nine when Sonali, Neha, and I were forced to go to bed. Our puffy eyes twinkled with surprise as our mother literally pushed us out of the living room, reminding us that we had a school the next day. Because she insisted and we had no energy left to fight back, the girls and I walked away after wishing a good night to Maya, who couldn't help but smile sadly as we left.

It was obvious Mom wanted some alone time with her, so we let her have it.

Instead of going to my room, I followed the twins into theirs. I'd always loved this room because of the two mezzanine beds. This place looked like a giant fortress in which no one could ever bother us, a feeling I was desperately wishing for in secondary school.

Neha, who was already in her pajamas, climbed on her bed. On the other hand, her twin had to use the bathroom, so I took it as a chance to crash hers.

"Oh, wow!" I sighed out. "This bed is soooo comfy!"

For the first time in two hours, my little sibling let out a small yet distinctive laugh. The sound of it was enough to make me smile. I really hated seeing her sad since Neha was the most sensitive person in this household.

"That makes it one thing you'll try to steal from us." she joked

I rolled my eyes, rolling over to face her as she stared from the other sise of the room, sitting on her bed.

"You should really stop stealing my stuff." I simply said

"Yeah, no."

I was too lazy to protest, so I let it go, knowing we'd fight over it later.

In the end, all the (L/n) siblings were hanging in the twins' bedroom. Mom went to bed an hour ago, allowing Maya to join us. Since Sonali kicked me out of her bed, I was sitting on the carpet with the eldest sister. The latter was currently justifying her decision to go back, mostly to the twins, since they were younger and had trouble comprehending her reasons.

"You can have a boyfriend here." Sonali grumbled when Maya explained how much she missed him.

I couldn't help but chuckle, but so did Neha. "But I'd rather keep the one I have." The woman addressed her a fake smile, one that quickly vanished as she let out a heavy sigh. "I like living there, in Australia. And I love Riley. He makes me happy. He gets me, who I am..."

As she spoke, I listened carefully, comparing her feelings with those I carried for Jungkook.

"I feel safe when he's around, as if nothing could hurt me. It's like he owns my heart inside a light, fragile crystal box." she glanced over at me "He's played a huge part in my recovery. Love does help a lot."

One of the girls squealed, moved by the confession. The other, however, pretended to throw up.

"You say that now, but you're going to feel that one day. I wish you to find someone you could kill for."

Sonali shook her head no. "Ew, no! Love is for loosers. My life will be all about money, success, and more money."

"Says the fourteen year old." Neha snickered. "Well, I hope I'll find love!"

As the twins started to bicker, Maya's attention drifted to me. She smirked, knowing that I knew what she had in mind. Jungkook, of course.

Without a word, I obliged her to stay quiet because there was no way she'd mention him in front of Sonali and Neha, who were massive snitches. Surely, she was not that stupid.

"What about you, Y/n? Do you—"

"Would you look at that. It's midnight already!" I cut her off

Neha nodded naively. "You can stay and chat, I'm going to sleep."

"Heard that, sis?" Maya clicked her tongue. "We can stay and chat."

"I'm sleepy." I lied and got up, ready to exit the room.

"This is what being old means..." Sonali cackled, making me want to strangle her little neck. "Go to bed, grandma."

I gave glared at her coldly, trying my best not to answer because I wanted to leave as soon as possible before Maya would ruin my life. If the twins knew, my mother would be next for sure.

"Alright, I'm coming with you."

Thus, my big sister followed me to my room, giggling and jumping from excitement. I could tell the thought of prying gave her great joy.

"So, what about him?" she asked as she closed the door behind her, entering my room "You never talk about your relationship."

Preparing my bed for a good night's sleep, I answered without looking at her. "There is no relationship."

"As if." she scoffed, sitting on my desk chair "You can't lie to me."

"Believe me, there's nothing to say. We like hanging out, and he's really kind to me." I shrugged "That's it."

"Okay." she frowned, playing with one of my pencils. "I saw you kissing." I bit my lip, trying to contain my horrified state. Maya's mouth twitched into a cocky smile. "Now, tell me everything."

"Fine." I sighed after seconds of hesitancy. "We kiss, we do that... a lot." I pursed my lips, averting my eyes out of embarrassment.

"And?"

"I'm not sure." I admitted, slowly forgetting that I was talking to my sister. The only thing I needed now was to vent. "It's confusing. We don't really talk about it. It just happens, and..." I shrugged, not sure what to add.

"Do you like him?"

I bit my lip, pretending to think, although I knew the answer very well. "I guess."

Maya rolled her eyes, shooting me a defying look. "Be honest!"

"I think I do?" I muttered, unsure. She frowned, obviously waiting for more. "Yes." Eventually, I sighed out. "I may be in love with him."

A/N: I wish I had sisters 😔
