"We need to go over it again?" I let out a heavy sigh, letting myself fall on the couch while my father was sitting in the chair next to it, silently filling out a form. He nodded slowly. "I don't think they'll help us, Dad. We should look on our own, trust me."

For a few months now, we have been looking for a cheaper apartment to rent. Our current house was too big for the three of us, and my father struggled to pay the rent. Since Namjoon was planning to leave for college, we wanted to find a smaller place.

"Help me fill in this thing, just in case. We can also check online to maximize our chances." Dad finally responded, averting his eyes, sorry to insist.

I bit my lip, feeling bad for reacting like I did. If he could've done it himself, he would have already.

Hours later, I was watching my brother play with his dearest synthesizer, a gift our mother had given to him on his fourteenth birthday. Just a year before she died. I recalled the day she brought it home, making my brother the happiest preteen alive.
