The Cambridge family was at their home in Surrey when Chelsy pulled into the driveway out front. She could feel the gravel under her car as it came to a stop. Chelsy would be lying if she said she weren't nervous.
It had been years since she had gotten together with William and Evelyn on a friendly level. Sure, she had just seen Evelyn prior to this day, but it was awkward at first and it was more of a catch up.
Evelyn was in the middle of making some snacks for the kids when she heard a knock at the door. Evelyn cleaned her hands and wiped the water that was dripping from them quickly before she opened the door that revealed her former best friend.
"Hi," Chelsy perked up when she spotted the blonde.
"Hi," Evelyn greeted Chelsy and hugged her quickly before letting her in. "Please come in," she stepped aside and Chelsy came into their home.
"This is for you," Chelsy says as she hands the duchess a bottle of red wine.
"Oh thank you," Evelyn told her as she took the gift. "You didn't have to get us anything though."
"I know. I wanted to though."
"D'you want anything to drink?" Evelyn asked as they went further into their house.
"I'll take a water please."
"You got it," Evelyn told her. "Kids? William? You want to come in the kitchen?" She called out to them as William was with them in the sitting room. "So, how have you been?" Evelyn asked the blonde as she got a glass and put ice in it from the refrigerator and then added water.
"Thank you," Chelsy thanked her after Evelyn gave her the glass and she took some sips. "I've been busy with my jewelry line," she starts to say and just then the three kiddies come running into the kitchen and Spencer almost runs into his mum's legs before Evelyn picks him up and holds him in her arms. His tiny legs wrapping around her middle.
"Hi love," he kisses his wife's lips and then greets Chelsy with a hug. "It's so good to see you again!" William tells Chelsy as he picks up Victoria and holds her.
