Chapter 38: Negotiations

Chapter 38

Lucy's POV

  I pushed open the heavy and rusty metal door that leads inside the old warehouse that's located at the forest. The first thing that met my eyes were darkness but nonetheless, i walked in. Determination spread through my veins like wild fire as i confidently walked through out the place, not letting any fear show.

  "Anyone here?!" I shouted, only to hear echoes of my voice. I let seconds pass by, waiting impatiently for someone to answer but to no avail nor progress.

  "Listen! I'm the one you want, right?! I'm the one you need! So, why don't you just come out here and pounce at me like the  crazy animal you all are?! Show yourselves and let's get this negotiations done with!" I yelled out in frustration.

  "As you wish, princess." A shiver came up my spine as a cold voice echoed through out the place. Not wasting any second, the warehouse suddenly found source of light as everything became clear to view.

  I felt my heart stop as i saw a group of mages, i presume, all towering a few meters from where i stand. Tied and bruised behind them are Spetto-san, her husband and Andrea.  Anger and rage suddenly boiled up on me as i tried to control myself from beating them to a pulp. I still need answers..

  "Who are you and what do you want from me?!" I shouted at them, only to receive countless of snickers and dark chuckles. All the tugs infront of me were all atleast a head taller than me. Bodies were bulk and muscle toned, but their faces were hinted with sinister looks and creepy smiles. They almost look like a gang of bad mages to me.

  "We were only ordered to beat you up then hand you over, not to entertain you with answers. " one of them said which made me grit my teeth in annoyance.

  "Tell me, otherwise i'll beat those answers out of you!" I warned. And as expected, they didn't buy it as they laughed at me. Another vein popped on my head as i saw one of them approach Andrea. The ugly tug lift her with her hair which earned a grunt of pain from the girl.

  "You'll beat us? By yourself? Don't make us laugh, princess. Or else you'll end up the same faith as her." The tug said as he threw Andrea to a nearby wall like she was just some toy. The thrown girl cough out blood and cries of agony.

  "You freak! I'll make you pay for hurting them! Screw answers! I'm done negotiating with pea brains like you! Gates of the bull, lion and ram, i open thee! Taurus, Loke, Aries!" I chanted as i unattached the three said keys from the ring to call them out. Once they all appeared, i unclasped my whip from my belt and prepared myself for battle.

  "Your actually serious with your threat, spoiled brat?" One of them snarl at me which made me even more angrier by minute. I'm known to be a calm and cool girl, but there's just something about them that makes me loose my patience. It's probably the fact that they hurt my family.

  "One last chance. Tell me who ordered you to kidnapped them or else.." i warned but like earlier, they just belittled me. The spirits i summoned were also fuming by my side as they also tried to control their anger.

  "Or else what?" That's the last straw. I glared at them before charging, my faithful spirits right behind me.  I scanned the tugs before deciding to target the closest. I clipped my whip on his right arm before using my full strenght to throw him to his companions who was busy underestimating me to even notice. Some managed to get away but 3 of them still got caught up. The 4, including the one i threw, rolled back a couple of meters before slamming to a wall.

  My spirits charged at the group while i took down the nearest. After kicking one of them in the gut, i noticed that all were distracted. I took the opportunity as i slipped past Loki who was fighting four of them at once. I made a mental note of helping him later before approaching the place where Spetto-san and her family are being held down. Luckily, no one was there to guard them.

  I crept behind them before seeking there attention.

  "Spetto-san." I whispered as i made my way behind her, a little knife made from my Celestial Magic in my hand. A trick Celestia also taught me.

  "Lucy-sama?" The older woman asked as she looked at me with one swollen eye. Her eyes instantly got filled with tears as she finished studying my face, finally recognizing me.

  "It is me. I'm so sorry for involving you and your family in my mess. I swear, i-"

  "Stop talking nonsense, Lucy-sama. It's not your fault that we got kidnapped." My former maid pointed out but didn't really lifted me up from my guilt trip.

  "But it is my fault! They wanted me! That's why-"

  "Your not the one who ordered to kidnap us, right? Your not the one who decided to involve innocent people in their dirty scemes. Don't you see? You are nowhere at fault here, Lucy. Just accept that and free us from this ropes. My hands and legs is starting to feel numb already." With a chuckle, i freed the three of them before silently guiding them to the back and far side of the warehouse.

  "What are we doing here?" Andrea asked me. She's currently supporting her grandfather, with his arm draped over her shoulder, helping him walk faster.

  "Shhhh, i'm going to get you guys out of here first." I said while unattaching another golden key from my belt.

  "Gate of the maiden, i open thee! Virgo!" With a poof, my pink haired loyal maid spirit appeared, her face helds no emotion as it always has.

  "You called, Princess?" Virgo asked as she bowed slightly in somewhat respect.

  "I want you to dig a hole from here to outside this warehouse. Make it big enough for Spetto-san and her family to fit." I instructed which was obliged by her immediately.

  "What do you mean by that? Your npt coming with us?! Let's just escape, Lucy-sama!" My former maid panicked as she gripped both my hands in a pleading manner.

  "I'm sorry, but i cannot. I still need to know what they want from me." I reasoned which made Spetto-san shook her head in rapid speed.

  "No! It's too dangerous! Let's just escape from here, report to the council then forget everything! Then we'll live peacefully! Please, Lucy!"

  "I'm sorry, but as long as i'm with you, your life will be far than peaceful. And besides, i have my a powerful guild to back me up. No need to worry about my well being. All you have to do is went through the hole Virgo made, and look for a young blunette in pigtails with a white cat. I instructed them to lead you all to safety. She'll know what to do from then on." I tried to mask their worries with my brightest smile but they still seem hesitant.

  "But-"

  "Please... i have my friends waiting for me. They care for me as much as i do with them. They'll protect me and vice versa. I'm a Fairy Tail Wizard, after all." With one final look, they went inside the hole.
