Chapter 43: His break down

Chapter 43

Normal POV

  "S-Star Goddess? Heir to the D-Dragon Throne? What the hell are you talking about?!" Natsu spatted out angrily as he glared at him. He was beyond confused, he know nothing of what the guy infront of him was rambling about. And he has a feeling that he doesn't want to know. If whatever this guy was talking about in any way true, it only means that Lucy has been keeping something from him. It hurt him to think that his bestfriend would lie and keep things from him.

  "What? Didn't she tell you? What a shame. And you claim to be her friend! Ha! You don't even know what she is for crying out loud! " the man mocked which made Natsu more angrier. The rest can only watch in anticipation as they too know nothing of what the guy has been speaking of. They were also curious on what he's going on about.

  "Don't speak of her like she's some monster! Like she's not human! And your lying! She's my bestfriend! She would have told me if what your saying is true!" The angered pyromaniac yelled in annoyance as he had flames sprouted from his body. The man didn't even flinch which only pissed Natsu even more.

  "Are you sure that's how she still sees you? I mean, after what you done? She may have forgave you, but that can't replace that pain you put her through! She may not show it but i'm sure, she has a hidden grudge on you. On all of you! " Natsu's eyes widen in realization as his fire distinguished upon instantly. He took a step backward as guilt and regret welled up on his chest, just like how it did when Lucy left not long ago. He felt blind and oblivious all of a sudden. "How can i be so dense?" Is what he thought.

  "Natsu, don't listen to him." Erza butted in for the first time in this convesation. She took a step towards them but was abruptly stop when a shadow wall suddenly appeared before her. The wall surrounded and trapped Natsu and the man alone, which means interruption is not permitted. The rest of Team Natsu, Spetto-san and her family can only watch as their own Dragonslayer broke down.

  "Y-Your lying! She's n-not mad a-at me anymore! S-She made i-it clear already! She d-doesn't hate me!" The pyro yelled desperately as his legs broke down. His hands clutching his head while fresh tears started to well up on the corners of his eyes. The thought of Lucy still hating him was too much for him. The idea is killing him. He valued the Celestial Mage dearly. He treasured her like how a real Dragon would.

  "Are you sure about that?" The man mocked even more which made the cherry haired dragon slayer doubt his own words. 'What if she does hate me? What if she doesn't want to be my partner and bestfriend anymore? What if she leaves me?' So many question corrupted his mind. So many possibilities and 'what if's' waiting to kill him now.

  "Don't y-you dare listen to him, Flame Brain! He's bluffing! He's j-just playing with us! Lucy w-would never hate you, Idiot!" Gray yelled from the other side of the wall only to be ignored by his teammate.

  "Gray-san's right! Lucy-san would never hate you! She's your bestfriend, right? Believe in her like how she believes in you!" This, however, reached the pyro's ear. 'Believe in her like how she believes in me? Does she still believes in me like before?' The pyro thought sadly. He's clearly broken. Who would have thought that the great Salamander's weakness is his own bestfriend?

  "Ohh? The little Dragonslayer can't handle the truth? Are you gonna cry now? Awwww, too bad. Never did i thought that Fairy Tail's Salamander was this weak. Seems th-"

  "Shut up, j*rk! You have no right to belittle my bestfriend. He's by far the strongest person i know, so keep that in mind. And for the record, i don't hate him like what your claiming. I would never let something as small as that come between us. So, just keep your mouth shut." A new voice arose which caught everyone's attention. Everyone present in the battlefield had their eyes widened in surprise as a new figure emerged in the clearing. She had her head held up high with eyes blazing in anger as it stared at the man wearing a cloak.

  "So, you came? I thought he was keeping you company?" The cloaked man asked which made her raise an eyebrow. It seems that it's Mr. Clarkson he was referring to. She shrug in response as she approached the Shadow Wall that's separating them from Natsu and the man.

  "Wait! That wall wa-" Erza attempted to stop her but was ignored. She calmly stepped through the wall without hesitation which shocked everyone. But what surprised them even more was that she made it through the other side, unharmed and uninjured.

  "How d-did she..?"

  "Impressive, Star Goddess. I never expected you to break through my shadow wall that easily. Seems that you-"

  "Cut the crap. I don't have time to listen to your rants. I want you to leave before i make you." The venom on her voice made everyone, even the cloaked man, shiver.

  "Oh? And how are you gonna do that?" The man taunted which made Lucy smirk.

  "How else? By fighting you of course. I have a score to settle with you anyways. For hurting my friends and making my bestfriend believe i hate him. Prepare yourself cause hell will surely come your way.." The blonde threatened before charging at him.
