Log 030: Day 30, Part 2

Inside the pyramid, it was most definitely different from the colorful world outside.

It was blue as far as the eyes could see.

The sign on my right glowed a gentle green and blue, writings of white written on it.

The place was rather loud, there were lots of people pointing and admiring at the fishes, some snapping pictures of them.

I then turn to face the aquarium. There were colorful marine life that had settled on the sand, what appeared to be tentacles swaying gently in the water as small pearl white fishes swam past.

"You do know what those are right?" Dazai leaned forward, face near the glass as I turned to the left to face him.

"I could do some research, though I think it would be more entertaining if you told me," I stated before looking back to face the glass.

I hear him smile, "the things on the sand are called Sea Anemone the fishes are Blue-Green Chromises and Treadfin Cardinalfishes."

I hummed, my hands touching the glass as the fish swam around the tank. I looked up and I couldn't help but help but find something slightly amusing.

"You read off the sign didn't you?" I asked, pointing at a blue sign above the aquarium with the name of the fish written on it.

"I thought you wouldn't notice!" He waved his fist at the sign in a joking manner as I looked back at the fish.

"Well, sign or not, it's still more interesting to hear from you," I admitted, "it's better than reading, it will make me feel as if I'm working again."

"Alright then! I'll be your personal guide," he grins as I nodded.

He takes my hand and continues to guide me through the aquarium.

Soon we found corals of every color and even more fish, Dazai proudly naming each of them as if he knew them by heart.

I couldn't help but research at times to quiz him only to see him stumped and confused, he'd normally pout after that.

It was entertaining to say the least.

A small squawk-like sound was heard, or perhaps a chitter and I rushed towards it in curiosity, I found a bigger tank that had the water surface seen, a rocky trove behind it.

Inside I see a rather round grey creature, it had round eyes and flippers, whiskers and darker spots all over its body.

"That isn't a fish isn't it?" I asked the bandaged man who nodded and spoke proudly, "it's a grey seal, they're not fish, rather, they eat fish."

I look back at the glass and I notice one of the seals had approached me. I place my hand on the glass and I drag it slowly in another direction causing it to follow my finger curiously.

I hear him laugh, "looks like you've got a new friend."

I hummed again as I continued to drag my finger in amusement, the seal following it for a little longer before going off to see a child jumping up and down excitedly.

I looked at the tank, "all the creatures I saw before, they looked rather sad."

"Hm?" Dazai turns to face me.

"Don't they ever feel trapped? Bored?" I asked, all I could remember was that empty feeling in the intelligence unit, sitting around doing the same things over and over again.
