If my plan to take over as second in command to the mafia doesn't work, I might consider a future in the movie industry. My only challenge would be that Mikhail and his big head would disagree, especially if I had to kiss another man on the television.

If this detrimental challenge wasn't there, I bet on every star that with acting as a career, I was made for life. With all the crocodile tears I'd had to shed to get a little cash from Mom or Dad, I was confident in my skill to be able to convince the detectives investigating Mr. Vlad's death that I had no hands in the death of my precious teacher. Even if the testimonies of my classmates seemed to be pointing at me as the killer. According to what transpired between him and me in the classroom that day of his death, I was supposed to be the last person he was in contact with.

Anyway, the school closed down for a few days after the shock of Mr. Vlad's death. The few days were used for clearing up and sealing off the computer lab. The officers had been thoroughly investigating the case but it seemed to be one of the most complicated amongst many. Mikhail didn't exactly make it easy for them. I was his precious. There was no way in hell he was going to allow me to go ahead and rot in jail. So he went the extra mile to make sure nothing but the fruitless testimonies of my classmates could put the spotlight on me.

He told me not to fret. But I must not give off anything that might implicate me if the detectives decided to take me in for questioning. So today, I came to school reminding myself that I was a criminal who must try her very best not to get caught else she would be spending the rest of her life in jail.

"I grew up as a sheltered girl living under the protective wings of her mother. I was constantly told how the world outside my mother's gated home was shrouded in evil, the evil that comes with the faces of men...." my eyes strayed to the head detective noting down my statement with all seriousness. "I thought all evil men deserve to die. But then my father told me no one is evil, that they're just misunderstood. And I believed. I believed Mr. Vlad didn't hate me as a person. So as bad as I think he might have been to me, I never wished death upon him. I swear I would never. This news put me in such a state of shock and trauma, detective."

My hand stretched across the table as the other detective handed me a tissue, a sympathetic look in his dull brown eyes.

"Thank you." I sniffled, wiping the rolls of fat tears streaming down my cheeks with the piece of tissue before dragging it down to my nose and blowing loudly into it. The head detective with a rather stony expression made a masked disgusted face at my action but he quickly offered a tight smile when my eyes caught him in a split second.

"When he asked you to meet him after class, did you have any idea what he could want to discuss with you?" he asked the question with no atom of warmth in his green eyes. Were all green-eyed people this cold?

"He was very uncomfortable with my grades," I sniffled again, sticking out my tongue briefly to lick my dry lips. "I supposed he wanted to maybe try contacting my guardian?"
