Chapter 8: Part 2: Final Chapter

Hope you guys enjoy it too!! sorry I took a while on this one- was a bit longer than the last parts and had some things on this week. Guys thank you for reading up to here!! I'm unsure if I'll come back and write something more in two months, it depends on a few things, but I love writing these two up so much- they are two characters with so much tension I love it lol Anyways sending you all big hugs!! xxx

"Drop it Rafe!" Ki cries. Her eyes flicker between him and her friends- shocked.

It doesn' take much time for her to start to move, not hesitating to stalk over fast toward him- her heart sinking deep in her chest... and even though she's probably doing the dumbest thing in her life- pacing quickly at someone holding up a gun that could potentially be set off- putting her life at danger- she'd still put on a mask of pure confidence to convince everyone she'd known what she was doing.. though she really doesn't.

Her head is pounding- heart is thrashing viciously against her ribcage... these are her friends... and even though they had been partly (but let's be real- barely) at some fault in this too- she kind of feels like she'd somehow mostly caused all of this to begin with and she feels pangs of guilt clawing at her insides...

She felt like her world was spinning out of control... but at the same time- everything seemed to slow down... it was night, but the lights on the front lawn lit up the scene so clearly in front of her.

She'd need to come up with something to diffuse the situation... and her pacing quickly toward Rafe was not really a plan..?

Rafe's finger sweat on the trigger, gun firmly held to JJ... he shakes his head, and he steps aside to peer past her, sticking out his arm with his gun in his hand to travel around her- at an angle away from her, but she steps in front again, blocking his view... the gap between them is fading, which means he doesn't have much time to think-

"Nah- don't think so, Ki-" he replies in a low stern tone, gaze flicking from JJ to her and back.

Rafe watches as JJ's eyes flit to Ki with worry- stirring up a surge of jealousy in the pit of his gut- and even if it all occurs in a split of a second- it coils something so heavy and uncomfortable pooling his gut, making him feel ill... he'd thought he'd been made out to feel like he'd been the bad guy- this was all JJ too!- he'd pulled a gun on him first!

"Give me the gun Rafe-" she snaps at him, stalking over quicker then before. Rafe's panic makes him grimace- beads of sweat forming over his temple as he struggles with his hands heavily wound around the gun- scared he'll set it off by accident... he's basically left with no choice- he may be in a fit of rage, but his not crazed enough to know what could happen.. and he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he were to ever let anything bad happen to her again... especially if it were because of him... her being in his way- he knows what he must do- he'd no choice- and he pulls the gun into safe mode... she could still attempt to tackle it off him- so he loosens his grip, making it easier for her to take it from him-

"Please- Ki- don't-" he pleads, tripping back a little on his foot as he urgently takes that step back, giving him more time to make the gun safe for her to take off him... she's quick, and she's already in front of him- "You-don't-know-what-these-shitheads-will-do-" he sputters out all at once- and then she's already snapped it out of his hand. She catches her breath at first- trying to calm her racing pulse- all the adrenaline still coursing insanely through her.
