The misery knight had been ongoing forever.

Y/N staggered his body against the wall, struggling to breathe. He kept hugging the wall and moving forward.

He collapsed to the floor due to his injuries and mental exhaustion. His body bent in a crawl position, exasperated heavily as if he had been running for hours.

Then the Herrscher of Light's angelic voice rang around his head.

'You can't blame yourself, Y/N...'

The moment he heard her voice, his emotion coiled up in his emotional survivor guilt.

"Of course, I can! She's gone because of me!"

By then, Y/N realized that he started to lose his sanity because of his uproar over nothing.

Kiana's star-shaped headband was in his right hand. He couldn't resist his guilt the moment he took a glimpse of her headband. It reminded her too much, gripping tighter even more.

The rootlike Honkai Infection on the same hand he gripped Kiana's headband was spreading all over his palm, glowing in blue.

How many times he kept imagining her voice calling him out with his pet name, "Mein Liebling," was only building up a vow to save his girlfriend at all costs.

He already missed her so much that he didn't care about himself until he rescued Kiana safely. Tears threatened to flow out from his left eye.

He gripped the headband tightly with sheer determination and vowed to repent his mistakes.

"Kiana! I'll be there...!"

Y/N gritted while struggling to stand up on his feet. He couldn't keep his balance as he walked at a staggering pace.

"Y/N-kun!"

The voice with a Japanese accent came from behind. It's the voice he wished he didn't hear. The voice, he thought, was filled with hatred.

He froze as if those calls were like a rope snaring his body. He didn't dare to look back.

"Where are you going...?"

With her concerned face, Mei attempted to confront him with her left hand, gingerly trying to reach for him. She was flabbergasted about why the miserly knight attempted to go out alone in that critical condition.

Despite the concerned voice, he still didn't dare to look back. Fear arose, remembering the state he had been through and the drastic change he suffered that might have his comrades against him. Especially how he looked like he had just resurrected from death.

"Don't go near me, Mei-san!"

He sprinted away from Mei in a snap as far as possible, ignoring all the pain he faced.

Mei snapped out of her trance when she saw him suddenly escape at the speed of light. She lost sight of his track when standing two feet from the knight.

"Y/N-kun! Y/N-kun!"

Mei yelled in a cracked voice, and she attempted to make a catch for him but realized that he was already not in her sight anymore.

Her hands were trembling. She tried to reach for the comms on her right lower arm, establishing contact with her Captain, even though his identity was already exposed.
