Episode 13-15: The Second Eruption

Later that night, a silver box truck branded Toyota Dyna pulled up to the side of the street just off the Kaslana family's house.

It had Leon and Welt in it, with Welt riding the truck and Leon sitting in the passenger seat.

"Kaslana's house?"

Leon stared at the house's front entrance while he murmured in question.

"That's why."

Welt pointed at the Kaslana family's house, resting his palm on the steering wheel while his head watched the house.

"And, no, we're actually not delivering our packages to them. We're here to help them."

"...And how will we be helping them with that, Mr. Welt?"

Leon looked at Welt with a curious look, wondering what he was thinking since Welt's attitude toward helping the Kaslana family was just as nonchalant and unenthusiastic as before.

Welt averted his gaze from the house to Leon, still in his flat expression.

"Mother of Honkai, please come here."

His sudden callout caused Leon to tilt his head in confusion, without knowing if Welt was acting weird or addressing him as the Mother of Honkai.

"Mother of Honkai...? Me? Did you just say Mother of Honkai?"

Before Leon could process Welt's strange calling, his mind was suddenly being taken over, and his eyes glowed in blue as if an unknown spirit possessed him.

Leon's soul was temporarily suspended in his body. The Herrscher of Light's spirit overtook him as Leon's mind suddenly faded.

The Herrscher of Light took complete control of Leon, who now could not resist her possession over him.

It had been the 7th time since he was possessed by the Herrscher of Light's spirit.

"Joachim Nokianvirtanen, or should I say, Welt Yang, the second user of the Herrscher of Reason. Once again, you cheat death. You've proved yourself that you're unstoppable."

Instead of using Leon's masculine voice, she decided to use her own voice for the first time.

The deep, angelic voice of Herrscher of Light replaced Leon's masculine voice and greeted her fidelity Herrscher. She controlled his actions, and her voice came out of his mouth.

Welt couldn't help but enact a subtle smile, having again met his majesty Herrscher, who guided him for humanity.

"Hello, Mother of Honkai. I see you have taken over your follower body. It's been some time since we last met one another, but how have you been since the last time?"

"Hmm, hmm. Ever since that knockoff of mine stepped the Earth, humanity now views the giant of light, including myself, as a threat."

"But I don't blame them. I still love humans, but that doesn't mean I hate the Houkai either."

Herrscher of Light smirked and chuckled while averting her gaze to the windshield, placing her hand on her chin, remarking how her twisted counterpart, Ultra Honkai-Killer, who had damaged her reputation in the long run, didn't budge her in the slightest.

Despite the humans who had marked her as a threat, her fondness for humanity never sunken. She showed affection to them even though she still had her duties and goals.

"...And how has your duty been going for you recently? You still are guiding the humans towards their inevitable victory against the Houkai, right?"
