MARTA'S FINGERS CLENCHED AROUND STEVE'S neck, swinging her legs off the bed she laid on, pushing the man to the ground. The machines she became disconnected to beeped loudly, and Bruce immediately called for Tony as backup.Steve tried to pry Marta's fist away from his neck as she straddled his lap, pushing him even further into the ground. "Marta. What are you doing? It's Steve!" The man choked out, his face turning red as his oxygen was beginning to be cut off.
Marta showed no reaction to Steve's words, or the presense of Ironman behind her. Steve tried to fight her off as gently as he could. Even if she was trying to kill him, Marta still meant everything to Steve. Suddenly, she was blasted off of Steve by Tony, who hoped that the force would knock her out.
But Marta was stronger than Steve was, and she brushed off the blast easily, rolling and standing up. "Don't break my Tower." Tony warned, making Marta cock her head to the side in confusion at the technology.
"I will break what I have to." Marta said, before grabbing a metal table and throwing it at Steve, who had stood with fingerprints imprinted on his neck. He almost smiled at hearing her voice. He had missed it.
Steve dodged the attack, quickly telling Bruce to get out of the room as he landed a punch on Marta's face, wincing as she retaliated with a sharp blow to his gut. "Marta, stop!" Steve shouted, blocking her kick. Tony readied his repulsor again, when Steve stopped him. "Stark, don't! I have her!" He demanded, fighting around the room against Marta. She threw him into a wall, leaving a large dent in it. Steve stood up right away.
Marta slammed her fist into Steve's face, breaking the bone under his eye. She kicked his knees out from under him, shoving him to the ground again. Steve quickly punched Marta's jaw, distracting her long enough for Steve to turn her around, her back pressed to his chest as he locked his arms around her neck, aiming to hit her pressure point and knock her unconscious.
Trying to fight back, Marta flailed her legs around, aggressively trying to get free. Tony blasted her once more in the chest, and Steve's heart clenched as he heard her cry out in pain. "Stop fighting," Steve said in her ear as Marta choked, before her body fell limp in Steve's hold. "Oh, my God." Steve muttered, wincing as he sat up against the wall, still holding the woman.
The room was destroyed, and both Marta and Steve were housing several wounds. Luckily, no one else was injured. "Looks like she'll fit right in with her brother." Tony said as his helmet retracted, walking towards the pair.
"We don't know that." Steve said, brushing Marta's messy blonde hair away from her sweaty skin.
Bruce walked back into the room, breathing out in relief as he saw that Marta was detained. "We're setting her up in the other room." Bruce spoke, and Steve nodded.
Tony walked out of his suit as Steve stood up with Marta in his arms, following Bruce into the other hospital room, gently laying Marta down on the bed. He frowned as he saw the marks on her face from his punches, and the red lines on her neck, though he knew he did what he had to do. "I don't think she'll be out for long." Steve said, knowing Marta's strength. She trained him before and after they became super-soldiers, so he knew her pain tolerance.
Bruce nodded. "We'll restrain her. Try to figure out what's going on." He said, other doctors helping to hook Marta up to a heart rate monitor. They tied her wrists and ankles to the bed, keeping her from moving. Despite being warned not to, Steve sat at Marta's side. If she didn't try to kill him when she woke up, she would be confused, and scared. Steve would be there.
