MARTA MADE HER WAY BACK to the main operating floor of the building. A psychologist had been brought in to talk to Bucky, and as he got set up, Marta was pulled into the glass office by Steve, rolling her eyes at him. "Steve, stop. I can't even look at you." Marta said, attempting to leave, but Steve pulled her back. Sam sunk into his chair, unable to go anywhere.

"We need to talk." Steve said quietly, trying to keep the scene away from prying eyes.

"Well, too bad. He's about to be evaluated, and I have to be over there." Marta pointed to where Ross was standing in front of the large monitors that showed Bucky in his capsule.

Steve sighed. "Is he okay?" he questioned quietly.

Marta shook her head with a scoff. "No, of course he's not okay. He's being held captive for crimes he didn't commit. He didn't bomb the UN, but no one believes that because of one shady piece of evidence that I have to somehow get my hands on." Marta said quickly in a hushed whisper.

Steve reached out and grasped Marta's hand. "Are you okay?" the blonde man asked tenderly.

"No, Steven, I'm not okay," Marta snapped, ripping her hand away. "Whose fault is that?" Marta wondered rhetorically, walking out of the office, leaving her husband behind.

Marta stood between Tony and Natasha outside of the office Sam and Steve were in, watching Bucky begin to be questioned. The psychologist was all set up. "Hello, Mr. Barnes. I've been sent by the United Nations to evaluate you. Do you mind if I sit? Your first name is James?" Bucky didn't respond to the doctor. "I'm not here to judge you. I just want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James? I can't help you if you don't talk to me, James." the evaluator continued.

Bucky looked at the camera, knowing his sister was watching the scene. "My name is Bucky." Marta smiled lightly at this, her arms crossed, muscles tensed.

"Tell me, Bucky. You've seen a great deal, haven't you?" the accented doctor asked, writing things down. Marta didn't trust him at all.

"I don't want to talk about it." Bucky responded, keeping his eyes away from the camera.

"You fear that... if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop. Don't worry," Marta's brows furrowed, eyes zeroing on the tiniest bit of the doctor's screen that she could see. "We only have to talk about one."

When the lights in the entire building went out and Marta lost eyes on her brother, she knew it wasn't a coincidence. Her watch beeped, indicating an explosion somewhere nearby. "It's a set-up." she said to Natasha, who had already suspected this.

"Great. Come on, guys, get me eyes on Barnes. Go." Ross said quickly, rushed and panicked.

"Friday, get me the source of that outage." Tony spoke to his A.I., the entire building coated in darkness.

As Natasha tapped away on a computer, Marta tried to trace the source of the outage, attempting to predict if another blast was coming. Sam and Steve ran right past her and she looked up with a sigh. "Who let them out?" she asked, looking around. Sharon looked guilty, and Marta rolled her eyes. They would make things infinitely worse.

Marta had no idea what was going on in the room her brother was in, and every time she tried to get down to him, guards stopped her. Eventually, Marta just stopped trying. When camera footage came back online, Bucky's pod was empty, the room destroyed, no one inside. Bucky had to have been activated, somehow. "Evac all civilians. Get me a perimeter around the building, and gunships in the air." Ross said into a radio.

Bucky was on the loose, and Marta had never encountered her brother as the Winter Soldier, but Natasha had warned her of what to expect. "Please tell me you brought a suit." Natasaha said to Tony as the three rushed through the facility.

        "Sure did. It's a lovely Tom Ford, three-piece, two-button. I'm an active-duty non-combatant." Tony said, stressed out.

"Well, you better get combatant." Marta muttered, pulling a gun out of the band of her pants, cocking it smoothly. She didn't trust the Winter Soldier.

Sharon appeared. "Follow me." she ran past Natasha, Tony and Marta.

Marta rolled her eyes. "How are you everywhere?" she mumbled under her breath.

The four got set up, easily finding Bucky fighting his way through the facility. By the look on his face and the aggression behind his attacks, Marta could tell this wasn't her brother. She just hoped everyone else did, too. Marta was hidden a floor above where Bucky was, Natasha, Sharon and Tony scattered about. "We're in position." Natasha said through the comms.

Tony appeared first, using an Iron Hand to blast sonic waves at Bucky that made him falter only for a moment. They engaged in a quick battle that Bucky won, casting Tony aside. Then Sharon made an attempt to stop Bucky, but she failed and was replaced quickly by Natasha, who had experience fighting the Winter Soldier before. Bucky flipped Sharon into a table as Natasha went after him, being pushed into a table, his metal fist clenching around her neck. "You could at least recognize me." Natasha muttered, her oxygen being cut off.

Marta jumped down from the balcony and kicked Bucky off of Natasha, hearing the redhead gasp behind her. Now, Marta was a soldier, a super-soldier at that. She had trained Steve herself, and had been forced to learn Hydra's methods of fighting, just like Bucky. They were a perfect match for each other. Marta shot her gun at Bucky's metal arm, temporarily immobilizing it for long enough for her to knock him down. She didn't know where she had figured out that that would work. Did they fight each other in Hydra?

Bucky took advantage of Marta's moment of realization to slam his metal fist into her skull, which didn't pain her like he thought it would. She got right back to her feet, but T'Challa appeared, taking over for her, which Marta was grateful for, needing to breathe for a second. Bucky got away from T'Challa, but he and Marta figured out where he was going and confronted him again. "Bucky, stop!" Marta shouted, punching her brother in the face, T'Challa grabbing his metal arm.

The fight continued, and T'Challa managed to push Bucky over a ledge. Marta rushed to see if he was okay, but he was gone. "This way." T'Challa said, jumping down from the stairs.

But Bucky had completely disappeared. "Goddamn it." Marta cursed, breathing heavily. She thought of where Bucky would go to get away, and then she remembered that there was probably a helicopter on the roof.

Leaving the Wakandan prince behind, Marta ran and jumped up several flights of stairs, until she found a roof access. Imagine her surprise when she saw Bucky trying to escape in a helicopter, Steve holding it in the air, barely still standing on the roof. Marta rushed over to him and grabbed onto the landing skid her husband was holding, helping him keep Bucky from escaping. Steve looked at Marta, shocked, until she yelled at him to focus.

Together, using their immense combined strength, Marta and Steve kept Bucky from flying away. But when Bucky jerked the controls and dove the helicopter towards the roof, sending parts flying everywhere, Steve dove onto his wife, pinning her to the ground beneath him so she wouldn't be harmed. "Are you okay?" Steve asked instantly when the crashed helicopter came to a stop, holding Marta's face in his hands.

Marta shoved him, breathing heavily. She went to inspect the helicopter, and when Bucky shot his metal fist out of the cracked window, she ducked, and Bucky latched onto Steve's neck instead. Marta tried to free him, but she couldn't. The helicopter was getting dangerously close to the edge of the roof, and Marta tried to hold on, but she couldn't. Marta was prepared to go down into the water with her brother and her husband, but Steve tore her grip off of him. "Steve!" Marta shouted when she realized what he was doing.

But it was too late. Marta watched in horror, waiting for them to pop up from the water, and when they did, she breathed a sigh of relief. Marta couldn't go with them, and Steve didn't want her to. He couldn't let her be a fugitive. So they ran away, and she let them go, prepared to act like she had no idea what had happened to the two of them.
