THE QUESTIONS MARTA HAD WERE instantaneous, but the look on Scott's face as he nervously paced the conference room had her hold off. He had been killed in the blip, or so everyone thought. His name was on a stone of the vanished, Marta had noticed when she went to see Bucky and Sam's names, as well as everyone else. Steve came back into the room, handing a warmed toddler cup of milk that he gave to his son. "Scott. Are you okay?" Steve asked, Marta holding their baby.

Steven had questions, but like his mother, he refrained, simply drinking his milk as Marta cradled him. "Yeah," Scott rubbed at his eyes, gaze landing on Marta and her baby. "You have a kid? With who?" Scott blurted out, realizing how much he had missed.

Marta pointed to Steve, unsure of who Scott thought the father or her child was. "This is Steven." she then pointed to her son, who waved from where he laid comfortably in his mother's hold, drinking his milk happily.

Scott sighed, struggling to ask about something. "Have any of you ever studied Quantum Physics?" he questioned.

"Only to make conversation." Natasha answered, hands stuffed in her sweatshirt pockets.

Steve and Marta shook their heads. Scott had a little bit of hope. "Alright. So... five years ago, right before Thanos, I was in a place called the Quantum Realm. The Quantum Realm is like its own microscopic universe. To get in there, you have to be incredibly small. Hope, she's my... She was my... She was supposed to pull me out. And then Thanos happened, and I got stuck in there." Scott managed to explain, Marta trying to lull Steven into sleep, shushing him gently.

"I'm sorry. That must've been a very long five years." Natasha said regretfully.

"Yeah, but that's just it. It wasn't. For me, it was five hours." Scott revealed, and Marta, Steve and Natasha shared a bewildered glance. "See, the rules of the Quantum Realm aren't like they are up here. Everything is unpredictable. Is that anybody's sandwich? I'm starving." Scott took a bite out of Natasha's sandwich.

Steve and Marta turned, Steve's arms crossed as he stood close to his wife and son. "Scott, what are you talking about?" Steve questioned. Steven had dropped his dinosaur, so Steve bent down to pick it up, giving it back to him.

Scott turned. "What I'm saying is, time works differently in the Quantum Realm. The only problem is right now, we don't have a way to navigate it. But what if we did? I can't stop thinking about it. What if we could somehow control the chaos, and we could navigate it? What if there was a way to enter the Quantum Realm at a certain point in time but then exit at another point in time? Like... Like before Thanos." Scott ranted, barely making any sense to the parents out of time.

Marta continued holding her half-asleep son. "Wait, are you talking about a time machine?" she questioned. Marta's knowledge of the subject came from movies Natasha had forced her and Steve to watch over the years.

"No. No, of course not. No, not a time machine. It's more like a... Yeah, a time machine. I know it's crazy. But I can't stop thinking about it. There's gotta be some way... There's gotta be...some w... it's crazy." Scott stammered, trying to explain what he was talking about.

"Scott, Marta and I get e-mails from a raccoon, so nothing sounds crazy anymore." Natasha said, Marta nodding in agreement.

Steven finished with his milk, snuggling close to his mother. "So, who do we talk to about this?" Scott asked, and Marta knew there was only one person they could talk to.
