Tony arrived on the snow a second later, and Marta descended the jet, guns cocked, mask and hood on. She blended in with the snow, leaving no trace of where she had been. They silently made their way through the facility in an effort to find Steve and Bucky. Marta had banned talking.
Tony found a door and Marta pried it open effortlessly, her limbs cracking as she stood up straight. "Well, that was easy." Marta said when she saw Steve and Bucky posted up, Bucky aiming his gun at the door.
Steve stood up, holding his sheild in front of him as Tony and Marta stepped towards him, Tony retracting his helmet. "You seem a little defensive." Tony said, inspecting the Siberian base.
Bucky kept his gun up. He trusted his sister, he didn't trust Tony. "It's been a long day." Steve spoke, continuing to move towards his wife and friend.
"At ease, Soldier. I'm not currently after you." Tony said to Bucky, and Marta rolled her eyes.
"Not ever again." Marta said pointedly, narrowing her eyes at Tony, who nodded.
"Then why are you here?" Steve interjected, harsh glaring landing on Tony, and then Marta. She returned it happily.
Tony shrugged. "Could be your story's not so crazy. Maybe. Lady Icicle has made some rather convincing arguments," Tony gestured to Marta, and she inhaled sharply, annoyed. "Ross has no idea we're here. We'd like to keep it that way. Otherwise, we gotta arrest ourselves." Tony leant against a wall.
"Well, that sounds like a lot of paperwork," Steve said, and then he lowered his shield. "It's good to see you, Tony." he said, avoiding the eyes of his wife.
"You too, Cap," Tony said, and then he looked beyond Steve to Bucky. "Hey, Manchurian Candidate, you're killing me. There's a truce here. You can drop..." Tony trailed off. Steve nodded to Bucky and he lowered his gun.
Marta narrowed her eyes at the weapon Bucky was holding. "Is that my gun? Did you seriously take my favorite gun?" Marta asked, brushing past her husband to get to her brother.
Bucky rolled his eyes. "How was I supposed to know this is your favorite gun?" he asked, outwardly glad to be able to bicker with his sister again.
Marta lowered her mask as she reached him and tilted the gun upside down, where she had written 'MFG' in big letters on a piece of tape. "Do you read?" she questioned, tuning up the weapon before she handed the gun back to Bucky.
"Okay, well what the hell does 'MFG' mean?" Bucky asked with an exhasperated sigh.
"Marta's favorite gun." Marta said with a grin, and Bucky rolled his eyes before capturing his little sister into a tight hug. Her suit was nearly identical to the one she had in the war, and seeing her like that gave him a comfort he had missed terribly.
After bickering some more about Bucky getting to use said gun, the four walked cautiously along a corridor. Tony was leading the way with his helmet reengaged, blaster on his palm ready to fire. "I got heat signatures." Tony said as they walked through open double doors. Marta took in her surroundings. She remembered nearly everything from being here.
"How many?" Steve questioned Tony.
"Uh, one." Tony answered.
They entered a large chamber and the lights were swithced on. There were capsules along the room's edges, yellow mist descending from them. They were cryogenically frozen, like Bucky had been. Steve led the way into the chamer, when a voice appeared over the speakers. "If it's any comfort, they died in their sleep," Zemo spoke, and Marta's eyes widened when she saw that every enhanced soldier in the capsules had been shot in the head. "Did you really think I wanted more of you? Two is plenty."
