"SO, MR. BARNES, MRS.
BARNES-ROGERS, are you still having nightmares?" Dr. Raynor asked. Marta rolled her eyes at the question with Winnie in her arms, holding a bottle to her mouth. "James, Marta, I asked you both a question. Are you still having nightmares?"

Bucky finally looked at the doctor. "No." he answered, a rather smooth lie. Marta would never rat him out, just as he would never rat her out. They sat beside each other on the couch in front of the wall that had trees painted on it.

When Bucky nudged her, Marta rolled her eyes again. "No." she said, turning her attention back to her baby.

"We've been doing this long enough that I can tell when you're lying," Raynor said, Winnie cooing in her mother's arms. "Well, you seem a little off today, James. Did something happen recently?"

Bucky shook his head, Sarah holding Rebecca's bunny in her car seat, staring up at him. "No." he said.

Marta put Winnie back in her seat after kissing her head. "You're civilians now. With your histories, the government needs to know that you're not gonna..." Raynor acted out murder, Marta scoffing lightly. "It's a condition of your pardons. So, tell me about your most recent nightmare." Raynor prompted again.

"I didn't have a nightmare." Bucky lied, hands in his lap. Marta was now holding Sarah, feeding her from a different bottle.

Raynor grabbed her pen. "Oh, come on." Marta said, startling her infant.

"Really? You're gonna do the notebook thing?" Bucky continued, equally as annoyed as his sister.

"Why? It's passive aggressive." Marta spoke as Raynor brought her pen to her notebook.

"You don't talk, I write." Raynor shrugged.

Marta glanced at her brother. She hadn't had a true nightmare in a while, because the girls always had her up at various hours of the night, disrupting her sleep. When she did have one, though, it was bad. Bucky sighed. "Okay. Okay. I crossed a name off the list of my amends yesterday." Bucky finally said. Marta had a list, too, but hers had been going for years, so it was almost complete. Bucky's was just starting.

Marta held Sarah close to her. "Don't worry. He used all your three rules." she said in a mocking tone to the doctor.

Winnie stared up at her uncle, giggling at him. Bucky finally picked her up, eager to appease his niece. "Senator Atwood. She was a Hydra pawn for years. Helped her get into office when I was the Winter Soldier." Bucky held Winnie in the crook of his arm, hands gloved.

"After Hydra disbanded, she continued to abuse the power Buck gave her. Rumors have it that she gave Rumlow one of the devices to activate me in return for a job he did." Marta said bitterly.

Bucky may or may not have had Steven help him complete this mission. Marta may or may not have known about it. "So, rule number one, you can't do anything illegal." Raynor said.

Illegal, like having your sister follow the senator's every move and place the bug in her car on her way to work? "All I did was give some intel to the aide to convict her. And I wasn't involved in anything else." Bucky said. He definitely did not let his three-year-old nephew press all the buttons and drive the car wherever he wanted.

        "Rule number two?" Raynor prompted.

"What was rule number two?" Marta said, looking up from her happy baby.
