THE AVENGERS WALKED TO THE time machine. Marta was actually able to believe that it was going to work, and she was excited, but the little knot in her stomach that would grow into a baby had her terrified. Steve held Marta's hand as they walked, his shield in his other hand. Marta glanced at Natasha, and her best friend nodded.

"Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends... We lost family... We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win." Steve said with determination once the team had taken their spots on the platform.

Marta looked at him. "Whatever it takes." she added, turning her gaze to look at the rest of her team. Out of the ashes, Marta was able to build a new family. She had a husband, a son. His godparents were there with her, her best friends that were the best uncles. It wasn't perfect, but it had been enough to get her through those dark years. After today, after they snapped their fingers for a change, her family would be perfectly complete.

Steve nodded in agreement. "Good luck." he said to the team. Marta dug around in her suit pocket, coming away with a little folded note. We love you the most, Mama — Steve & Steven ఌ𐦆

Marta looked up at Steve, a smile on her face. Seeing Steve's awful handwriting and Steve's tiny doodles. She folded the note reminiscingly, Marta."

"He's pretty good at that." Rocket said, looking up at Scott.

        "Right?" Scott agreed with excitement.

"All right. You heard the man. Stroke those keys, jolly green." Tony said to Bruce, who was setting up the time machine for the mission.

Bruce nodded, and Marta continued holding Steve's hand. It brought her comfort. "Tractors engaged." Bruce announced.

Clint opened his hand, revealing Rocket's ship that had been shrunken to fit in his palm. "You promise to bring that back in one piece, right?" Rocket said with his arms crossed.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I'll do my best." Clint brushed off with a sarcastic smile.

"That was the worst promise I've ever heard." Marta commented, Clint rolling his eyes at her. Rocket was surprised to see Marta on his side. She was still a tad scared every time Rocket had opened his mouth.

Natasha had an excited smile on her face. "See you in a minute." she spoke as Bruce joined them on a platform.

Marta let go of Steve as her helmet clicked into place over her head, and everyone shrunk into the Quantum Realm. Marta really hated time travel. They split off at different intervals, going to different places in different times. Marta was partially glad they weren't going back to her and Steve's time. She had grown accustomed to a life without the Great Depression, or sexism, or the Nazis.

As they landed on the streets of New York, they realized they were in the middle of the Avengers' first fight. Steve checked on Marta as their Quantum suits disappeared. Marta bit her lip harshly to keep from laughing at Steve's old suit. She had forgotten how bad it was. "All right, we all have our assignments. Two stones uptown, one stone down. Stay low. Keep an eye on the clock." Steve said quickly, Marta pulling her mask over her mouth.
