꧁ 𝟤𝟢𝟣𝟨, 𝖻𝖾𝗋𝗅𝗂𝗇, 𝗀𝖾𝗋𝗆𝖺𝗇𝗒 ꧂STEVE, OF COURSE, DECIDED NOT to listen to his wife's advice, and he and Sam had been arrested by Rhodey in Romania. Rhodey called Marta as soon as he could, to tell her Bucky was in captivity. He advised her to get to Berlin, where the government was sending Sam, Steve, T'Challa and Bucky. Apparently, T'Challa wore the mantle of the Black Panther, and he had gone to Romania to kill the man responsible for his father's murder. So Marta went, Natasha going with her. Tony was meeting them there. Marta wanted to be the first one to see Bucky, so she could trust that it was really him.
"Where is he?" Marta demanded as soon as she saw the man Natasha pointed out to her.
"All due respect, Lieutenant, you don't have any jurisdiction here." Everett Ross said, turning to Marta. He was commander of the task force designed to capture Bucky.
Natasha stepped up to be at Marta's side. "Sir, she just found out about him. She just wants to know if he's okay." the redhead spoke.
Ross sighed. "They're on their way now." he said, brushing the women out of the way.
A moment later, they were arriving. Natasha had been ushered away, but Marta stood with her arms crossed, hair braided down her back. Ross and Sharon now stood beside her. Marta saw a large container being rolled into the complex facility, and her eyes found the ones belonging to her beloved brother. He recognized her, and he called out to her, but his voice was muffled. Marta stood frozen, and then a second later, he was gone, out of her view. She could've fallen apart right then and there.
A van pulled up in front of Marta, and Sam, Steve and T'Challa exited from it. Sam and Steve were too ashamed to look Marta in the eye, and Steve wanted to go to her, but the sharp look in her eye kept him rooted in place. "What's gonna happen to him?" Steve asked Ross, walking towards him with Sam and T'Challa.
"Same thing that ought to happen to you. Psychological evaluation and extradition." Ross said, and Marta tried to focus on anything other than her captive, murderous brother.
"This is Everett Ross, Deputy Task Force Commander." Sharon said, standing on Marta's right. In all the stories Sharon had heard about Marta, she never pictured her to be so tense and angry.
"What about a lawyer?" Steve asked, upset to see that Marta's pissed off face wasn't changing at all. She could barely look Steve in the eyes.
Ross chuckled. "Lawyer. That's funny. See their weapons are placed in lockup. Oh, we'll write you a receipt." he said as Sam's gear and Steve's shield were moved from the van they had arrived in.
"I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that." Sam said as he, Steve and T'Challa started following Ross, Sharon and Marta. Marta looked back and caught her brother's eye. It had been so long, but she never forgot the light he always had in his blue eyes. The light their mother said they always shared. The doors were shut behind them, and he was gone.
Steve walked quicker to catch up with his fast moving wife. "He knew you, Marta–" Steve tried, walking next to her.
Marta sped up in response. "Don't talk to me." she demanded, moving through the huge facility.
"You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favor, stay in it?" Ross said to the three men as they walked, guards everywhere.
"I don't intend on going anywhere." T'Challa answered smoothly. He wasn't worried about anything.
Natasha appeared, falling in step with Marta. She had been on Steve's side long enough. "For the record, this is what making things worse looks like." Natasha quipped, glancing back at the Captain.
