LUCKILY, STEVEN'S SHOCK FROM THE jet crash had passed, and he was happy as can be, sitting on Bucky's shoulders. Marta, however, was less than thrilled. Her phone rang, Steve calling her, and Marta stepped back from Sam and Bucky, following them at a slower pace so she could talk to her husband. "Hey, honey." Marta breathed deeply when she brought her phone to her ear.

"Hey. Sorry I missed your calls, the girls and I just got back." Steve said, standing in the kitchen of the house.

"That's okay." Marta said as she tried to figure out how to tell Steve what was going on.

Steve frowned. "Where are you? I thought you were supposed to be back by now." he questioned, starting to get worried.

Marta sighed. "Uh, I'm in Munich." she answered, wanting to punch someone.

"Germany? Why are you there?" Steve was growing more concerned by the minute.

"That's why I called," Marta began, breathing deeply. "I was just supposed to have to check in, and then Hayes sprung on me that I had to go to Germany with Sam to do recon on this potential terrorist group. I tried to get out of it, but he reminded me of the contract I was forced into signing and threatened a court martial. I wanted to say no, I tried to say no, but you know what he's done to soldiers who don't comply with him, Steve." Marta explained as best as she could, feeling awful for being where she was.

Winnie started crying and Steve went to pick her up, holding her in one arm, phone in the other. "Wait, where's Steven?" Steve asked in alarm, and Marta felt worse.

She watched Steven carefully as he sat on Bucky's shoulders, having the time of his life. "He's with me. Hayes wouldn't let me bring him home first," Marta said with a distant sigh. "Walker showed up to help, but he just made things so much worse. His helicopter knocked into my jet, damaging it, and then he fell onto it, damaging it more. It crashed, but I got us out. Steven's fine, I'm fine, no harm done. He's with Bucky." Marta explained. She decided not to tell Steve about the super-soldiers just yet.

"Bucky's there? And why the hell did your jet crash so easily?" Steve questioned, growing angry. Marta felt he had a right to be upset with her.

"It's a crappy jet, Steve. It had no weapons, no shields, no protections of any kind. If I'd have known how bad it was, I wouldn't have taken it. Hayes shouldn't have put me in that jet, but because he hates me, he did." Marta said.

Steve was quiet for a while. "I don't like that Steven's with you. I don't like that you're there at all." he said, quiet anger stirring.

"I don't either. I'm really sorry, Steve." the blonde woman spoke sadly.

"Don't be sorry. It's not your fault," Steve said while cradling Winnie. "Just try to come home. The girls need their mom."

Marta smiled lightly. "We're headed to the airport now. I love you." she said softly.

"I love you, too," Steve said, about to hang up, but then he stopped himself. "Steven's probably in the best place right now. I don't think I could handle all three alone, not with him bouncing off the walls. As long as you stay safe, he'll stay safe. So stay safe." Steve said, and Marta nodded, though he couldn't see her.

"All over it." Marta responded, and then she ended the call. Steve clearly did not want to talk about Walker, so she didn't force him to.

Marta walked back to Sam and Bucky, standing on Bucky's left. "Everything okay?" Bucky asked, Steven reaching for his dinosaur that Marta held.
