STEVEN WAS FEELING PARTICULARLY CLINGY, so Steve held him as Bruce began to test the time machine. Steve was checking something out, so Marta stood with Natasha. Scott stood in his suit in front of an old van that was apparently the portal to the Quantum Realm. "Should I be optimistic?" Marta asked Natasha,

"Maybe." Natasha answered, Marta crossing her arms over her chest. She was holding Steven's dinosaur that he had dropped, yet again.

"Okay, here we go. Time travel test number one. Scott, fire up the, uh... the van thing." Bruce instructed, and Scott opened the van doors, revealing a portal.

Steve walked over to Bruce, holding his toddler. "Breakers are set, emergency generators are on standby." Steve announced, Steven attempting to repeat his father's words, breaking Steve's serious demeanor.

"Good. 'Cause if we blow the grid, I don't wanna lose Tiny here in the 1950's." Bruce said in a joking manner, but everyone's eyes widened.

"Excuse me?" Scott asked, holding his tablet.

Natasha typed away on a tablet as Steve moved towards his wife. "He's kidding," Natasha said, and then whispered to Bruce. "You can't say things like that." Natasha lightly reprimanded Bruce.

Steven took his dinosaur from Marta. "Not a funny joke." Steven said, shaking his head.

Marta smiled. "You tell him, soldier." she said, and Steven saluted her as best as he could.

"Just... It was a bad joke. Sorry, Steven." Bruce stammered, and Steven nodded, seeming to accept Bruce's apology.

Scott turned, moving back to the van. "You were kidding, right?" Natasha asked in a hushed whisper, waving sweetly at Steven when he said hello to her.

"I have no idea. We're talking about time travel here. Either it's all a joke, or none of it is," Bruce said quickly, looking up at Scott. "We're good! Get your helmet on. Scott, I'm gonna send you back a week, let you walk around for an hour, then bring you back in 10 seconds. Make sense?"

"Perfectly not confusing." Scott said, standing in front of the portal.

Steve was tense, as usual, but holding his son forced him to calm down. "Good luck, Scott. You got this." he said motivationally, which Marta would be sure to tease him about later.

Scott nodded as Marta stood close to Steve's side, pressing a kiss to his bicep. "You're right. I do, Captain America." Scott said, and then he disappeared into the Quantum Tunnel.

Bruce clicked a few buttons and Marta bit her lip in anticipation. Even Steven knew something big was happening, and he sat up straight in Steve's arms. "On the count of three. 3... 2... 1!" Bruce pressed a button, and a person appeared in front of them.

It looked to be Scott, as a teenager. "Uh, guys? This...this doesn't feel right." teenage Scott voiced, the suit way too big for him.

"What is this?" Steve asked, Marta's eyes wide.

"What's going on?" Bruce asked himself, rapidly pushing buttons.

        "Who is that?" Natasha questioned.

Marta's brows furrowed. "Scott? Maybe?" Marta asked aloud as Bruce panicked, pressing button after button.

The teenager looked offended. "Yes, it's Scott!" he said, but he was zapped back into the Quantum Tunnel.
