Genesis 21-23

In Genesis 21, a joyous day arose,
For Sarah's laughter, a child, finally shows.
As God had promised, Isaac was born,
A fulfillment of hope, a blessing adorned.

But as time passed, a trial came near,
God tested Abraham's faith, both bold and clear.
"Take Isaac, your son," God spoke with might,
"To Moriah's mountain, offer him in my sight."

With heavy heart, Abraham obeyed,
Bound Isaac on the altar, his beloved displayed.
But just as the knife was raised high,
An angel intervened, a voice from the sky.

"Abraham, do not harm the boy," the angel said,
"Your faith is proven, by not withholding instead."
A ram was found, a sacrifice made,
In place of Isaac, God's mercy conveyed.

Abraham's faith, unwavering and true,
A testament to trust, for me and you.
In Genesis 22, we witness this test,
And the depth of Abraham's love and faithfulness blessed.

Then in Genesis 23, a somber tone,
As Sarah, the mother of nations, was laid to her final home.
Abraham purchased a field, the cave of Machpelah,
To bury his beloved wife, a tribute to forever.

Reflect, dear friend, on these chapters profound,
What lessons do they hold, what truths are found?
In Abraham's obedience, faith shone bright,
And in Sarah's legacy, God's promises took flight.
