Exodus 31-33

In Exodus 31, God's chosen ones were graced,
With wisdom and skill, they were divinely placed.
The craftsmen and artisans, with hands so sure,
Were given the talent to create and restore.

Bezalel and Oholiab, gifted by God's hand,
Were given the ability to understand,
To work with gold, silver, and precious stone,
Creating masterpieces with every stitch and bone.

In Exodus 32, the people lost their way,
Longing for a god they could touch and sway.
They built a golden calf, a false idol of pride,
Forgetting the One who had been their guide.

Moses interceded, in anguish and despair,
Begging God for mercy, His people to spare.
With a broken heart, he pleaded for their fate,
And God's wrath was turned, His anger abate.

In Exodus 33, Moses sought God's face,
Yearning for His presence, seeking His grace.
He pitched a tent outside the camp, oh so far,
A meeting place with God, beneath a shining star.

As Moses communed, face to face with the Lord,
His faith was renewed, his spirit restored.
With each encounter, his face would glow,
A reflection of the love that God did bestow.

Reflect on these verses, dear friend of mine,
And see the lessons that within them shine.
Embrace your talents, use them for God's glory,
And beware of idols, that lead to a different story.

Seek God's face, yearn for His embrace,
And in His presence, find rest and solace.
For it is through communion, deep and true,
That we draw closer to Him and His love renew.
