Manasseh's request

In Joshua's tales, a land was claimed,
Divided among the tribes, each one named.
From Jordan's banks to the western sea,
The Promised Land, where their homes would be.

In Joshua 17, Manasseh's request was heard,
For their allotted portion, they fervently stirred.
Their inheritance before them spread,
Yet they felt lacking, a sense of dread.

"Give us more!" They boldly stated,
But Joshua reminded them, unabated.
"You are a strong people, don't lose sight,
Clear the forests and seize the might."

Oh, Samwills, in this story we find,
A lesson to unwind, of a different kind.
Sometimes blessings don't come in excess,
But rather in the challenges we confess.

In Joshua 18, the tabernacle stood,
A center of worship, a symbol of good.
The land was divided, cities assigned,
A glimpse of God's plan, perfectly aligned.

And in Joshua 19, the tribes received,
Their inheritances, as they believed.
They settled in their portion of land,
Establishing homes, a future grand.

So, dear brethren, as you contemplate,
The tales of Joshua, let me relate,
That in life's twists and turns, big or small,
God's faithfulness encompasses all.
