Genesis 31-33

In Genesis 31, Jacob's story takes a turn,
As Laban's envy made his heart burn.
God spoke to Jacob, said "Return to your land,
For I will be with you, guiding your hand."

So Jacob gathered his family and his flock,
With fear and hope, they began their walk.
Laban chased after them, anger in his eyes,
But God protected and heard their cries.

In Genesis 32, on the eve of his return,
Jacob wrestled with God, his heart did yearn.
He struggled all night, his strength was strained,
But he held on tight, blessings he obtained.

A new name was given, Israel, divine,
For Jacob encountered God in that timely line.
He faced his past, his fears and regrets,
And emerged transformed, his soul now reset.

In Genesis 33, Jacob met his brother,
Esau approached, there was fear like no other.
But in a surprising twist, forgiveness prevailed,
As Esau embraced him, their bond unveiled.

In returning home and facing our fears,
God's presence and grace draw near.

Through wrestling with God, our souls are refined,
And forgiveness can mend relationships once entwined.
