Hey Baby (Drop It To The Floor) by Pitbull & T-Pain

12/31/20

Music was blasting.

Everybody on our apartment floor was in here.

People were yelling.

Alcohol was being chugged.

It was fucking crazy.

"This scene is familiar, love." Will said, whispering into my ear as he walked up behind me. The words sent shivers down my spine and it took everything in me not to melt back into him when his hands rested on my waist.

"Ending won't be the same." I whispered back, ignoring the racing of my heart and how drawn to him I always was.

It had to be the alcohol, right?

"I'm painfully aware of that." He whispered once again. His hands removed from my waist and he blended back into the crowd.

The air around me suddenly felt cold despite how fucking hot it was in here.

"Hey babygirl." Jeremiah said. The words sent shivers down my spine, but not the way it did with Will. This was out of disgust.

"Don't call me that." I said, leaning back into him. I was painfully aware of how not Will he was, but i tried to brush it off.

"Why not?" He asked, leaning down and nipping at my ear lobe.

"Not as hot as you think it is." I said before excusing myself. I needed to find Steph.

When I finally found her I dragged her to her room and closed the door.

"He's not Will." I rushed out.

"Well, no, obviously not. Jeremiah and Will are two totally different and separate people, love."

"I only want Will because of like the alcohol, right? Every time we go to a party or pub together we always end the night together so that's why, right?" I asked frantically.

"Babe, what's going on?"

"I don't- I don't know. Forget it." I said, walking out of the room and going to the alcohol. I chugged whatever I could get my hands on first.

"Hey, hey. Calm down." I heard someone laugh softly as they took the bottle from me. I turned my head and saw Will looking at me with his silly goofy smile. God he was so fucking pretty, bro.

"I'm just having fun." I laughed, the alcohol prior to this hitting me harder than I expected. Oh right, that's because Ive been sober since my dad died five and a half months ago.

"I LOVE THIS SONG!" I yelled, grabbing Will's hand before he could set the bottle down and dragged him to the crowd of people. There was only a small portion left so he finished it and set it on the next surface he could.

"Hey baby girl what you doin' tonight? I wanna see what you got in store!" I yelled, laughing as other people sang with me. "You're givin' it your all when you're dancin' on me I wanna see if you can gimme some more!"

"You can be my girl, I can be your man, and we can pump this jam however you want!" Will sang from behind me, his hands moving my hips from side to side. "Pump it from the side, pump it upside down, or we can pump it from the back and the front!"

"Ooh baby baby." He sang with a laugh.

"La la la la la la la."

We danced and sang to the music, Stephanie joining in some time later in the song. She had a cup in hand and handed it to me as I drank from it.

"The year ends in five! four! three! two! one! Happy New Year!" Someone screamed. Will quickly kissed my cheek and Stephanie did on the other side as well. Jeremiah was nowhere to be found, but I didn't care. I didn't need a real kiss for the two I had to mean any less to me.

People filed out of the apartment in waves until it was just the four of us left. Jeremiah was glaring at Will and wasn't speaking. I didn't really notice until later though because of the alcohol running through my veins.

"I'll sleep on the couch." Will offered, helping me stand up and walking me to the bedroom. Once he closed the door, I heard some conversations going on in the living room, but I just replayed the night over and over with a smile instead of listening.

"What the fuck was that tonight?" Jeremiah asked as he walked into the room.

"I had fun, it's fine." I said with a giggle. I changed in the bathroom out of my clothes and into Will's hoodie and sweats. He left the hoodie here in October and I refused to give it back.

"Who's hoodie is that?" He scoffed.

"My brothers." I lied. I don't know why I felt the need to lie, I just did.

"Have you ever hooked up with William before?" He asked. I cringed at the use of William instead of Will but tried not to make it noticeable.

"Yeah, why?" I answered truthfully. That's something I won't hide. I don't regret it and he can be an insecure asshole about it all he wants, I don't care.

"You're not to be around him anymore."

"I'm not going to stop talking and hanging out with my best friend because you want to be an insecure asshole. Especially not when you tell me as if you own me. I'm not some prize to be won. I'm your girlfriend so if you won't treat me as if I'm your girlfriend who has her own god damn life, then you can easily be demoted to ex boyfriend." I defended. I laid in my bed and faced away from him.

"Whatever, be a fucking bitch." He said, laying down and turning away from me.

I really hope this isn't consistent in the relationship...
