"So this is it?" I asked, staring at the cars lined in a parking lot across from a huge football sized concert stage arena thingy.
"It certainly is." He laughed softly. We got out of the car which, by the way it's so fucking weird to be on the opposite side. I cannot explain how often I yelled that we were gonna get into an accident and Will laughed at me.
"Oh my god! You look fucking amazing!" Izzy said as she stepped out of the car.
"Oh my god we're fucking matching!" A blonde girl said before she got dragged off by a brunette i think was Kai. We all walked inside, Will and I lagging behind a tad incase the others were recognized by fans.
We reached our seats and sat there for quite a while before the concert actually started.
"I hope you're prepared because if she plays marjorie i'm gonna sob my damn eyes out and theres nothing you can do about it."
"Alright love." Will laughed. I laid my head on his shoulder and relished in the moment.
"I wish Steph were here. It's nice to do things without her, but its also weird because we do so much together."
"Facetime her, I'll take the videos."
"Wait, really? You wouldn't mind? Wait what?"
"Of course not. Go ahead." He said softly.
I facetimed her and she immediately started crying on the phone saying how much of an amazing person i am.
Songs passed and I screamed the lyrics alongside Steph. Then came the song I knew would come on and immediately felt tears sting my eyes.
"Oh we won't make it." Steph whispered, putting a hand over her mouth.
"Never be so kind, you forget to be clever." I sang, a hand over my mouth.
"Never be so clever, you forget to be kind" Steph sang.
"And if I didn't know better, I'd think you were, talking to me now."
"If i didnt know better, id think you were still around."
"What died didnt stay dead, what died didnt stay dead. You're alive youre alive in my head."
I think the lyrics clicked for Will because he immediately sat in his seat and pulled me in front of him, holding my waist.
"what died didnt stay dead what died didnt stay dead youre alive so alive."
"never be so polite you forget your power." Steph sang, voice wobbly despite how little I could hear her.
"never wield such power, you forget to be polite."
"And if i didnt know better is think you were listening to me now. if i didnt know better id think you were still around. what died didnt stay dead what died didnt dtay dead youre alive youre alive in my head. what died didnt stay dead what died didnt stay dead youre alive so alive."
i took a deep breath before continuing.
"The autumn chill that wakes me up! you loved the amber skies so much! long limbs and frozen swims you always went past where our feet could touch." I sobbed, having to take breaths in between each verse. "and i complained the whole way there the car ride back and up the stairs. i shouldve asked you questions, i shouldve asked you how to be. asked you to write it down for me, shouldve kept every grocery store receipt 'cause every scrap of you would be taken from me. watched as you sign your name marjoie. all your closets of backlogged drems and how you left them all to me."
I couldn't utter the rest of the song, my sobs being too harsh and brutal to complete the song. Steph was in a ball on the floor in our living room. mood. Will stood up and hugged me before we pulled away as the music started to slow and come to an end.
well, hows that for grief?
