Chapter 5: Late Again

Your eyes widened. You tried to move but you're too tired and too hurt to even try.

"It's nice knowing you, boy." He opened the door, brass knuckles still in hand. "My guards will take it from here."

As he said that, both of the guards entered the room and closed the door. Smirks filled their faces as each of them grabbed a weapon from the table next to the door and slowly walked towards you.

Then, as one of them were close enough, you used all your remaining strength to use your right hand to rip the hand rest right out of the chair and punched the guard in the gut. Then, you hit him in the head with yours so hard that he fell unconscious and his body limped over yours. Then, out of shock, the other guard started to rush towards you with another knife in hand as well, but you used the knife dropped by the first guard and cut off the rope tying your left arm and quickly subdued the other guard. Since the room is soundproof, nobody outside heard what happened, so you quickly cut off the rest of the rope tied on your body and slowly limped towards the door, with an arm on your gut.

"Silver... Wolf..." You said with a worried tone. Using all of the strength inside you, you made it out the room and was outside the door of the room Silver Wolf was taken. Even though you've been on multiple missions before already, you've still yet to see a mission as high stakes as this. Usually Kafka, Blade and Sam can reliably take care of themselves and wound up taking care of you instead, but it was quite different this time. So, with immense fear in your heart, as you opened the door getting ready for a fight, hoping that you weren't too late...

You saw Silver Wolf tapping on a floating screen, with some plugs on the unconscious wealthy man's head. Two of the guards that took Silver Wolf into the room were also unconscious and lying on the ground. She was completely free from any bondage and didn't seem to be hurt at all.

Your eyes widened, but for a different reason than before.

"Silver...Wolf...?"

"Oh, hi there. Just gonna wipe this guy's memory too."

She finished tapping on her floating screen, took away the plugs and headed straight for the door, but you were between her and the door. You were standing very still, not saying a word.

"Now I just gotta wipe the memories of the other two guards that brought you here and we're done." Then she looked up and locked eyes with you, of course also noticing the bloody face and bruises all over your body. "...Wow, you're not doing too great."

You smiled with relief, knowing that your teammate is okay. "Silver Wolf... You're... Okay..." you said as you started to pass out again from the beatings. As your body went limp, Silver Wolf caught you just in time before you fell down to the ground. Obviously, her body wasn't strong enough to hold up the body of a muscular young adult male, so she tried holding you up but turned into preventing you from falling to the ground in a loud thump.

"H-Hey! Are you-" She tried to hold your head up to see your face, and all she could see was your stupid smile, knowing that she was okay. She was a bit taken aback by the stupid expression on your face, but later started to ask if you were okay again.

"Hello? Hello?!" Now you were on the ground, still faintly hear her calling out for you, snapping her fingers in front of your eyes, hoping to get a reaction. Then, as your eyes start to really close up, Silver Wolf can be seen calling someone on her earpiece. Afterwards, everything faded to black.
