The ringing from an alarm clock woke up the owner of the arcade. It was 7 am. In about an hour, she would go down to the basement of her home, and run the arcade. Usually 6 hours of sleep was enough for her, but she couldn't get enough sleep last night, as she kept thinking about the silver haired girl. She forced herself to get out of bed, brushed her teeth, took a bath, checked the fridge if she should skip breakfast, decided to skip it, and went to work. She appeared at the door behind the counter, and greeted the hired worker. Of course, nobody was in the arcade. What kind of child would be playing arcade games on a Wednesday morning, anyway? The hired worker packed up his stuff and went back home, ending his shift. However, as soon as the hired worker left the building, the owner's tummy started rumbling. Looks like skipping breakfast was a bad idea.
She locked the door to the arcade from the outside, seemingly quite surprised that the lock still worked. Then, she decided to head to the fast food restaurant next door for some cheap grub, yawning as she was walking. Then, in the midst of yawning, she accidentally kicked something with her right foot. She almost tripped, but balanced herself before she did. She went and checked just exactly what she tripped on, and it was a little girl, curled up beside the sidewalk. Her long, curly and messy silver hair was hard to not notice, and she had her arms covering her face. It seems like the owner tripped on the little girl's leg, and in response, the little girl curled up her legs a bit more.
The owner stared at the little girl, surprised. She pondered the things she heard about the little girl from the hired worker last night, and also what she had saw herself. After a few seconds of lost in thought, in the end she couldn't bare herself to leave her all alone like that.
In the fast food restaurant, the owner was sitting by a window seat, and on the opposite of the table was the little girl. Her face was deadpan as usual, but in front of her was a simple kids meal burger set, along with some fries and a small can of coke. The little girl looked at the food in front of her, then looked at the owner who was already chowing down on a burger herself. The owner gave a little nod to the little girl to say that she could eat that.
The little girl looked down at her food, took the wrappers off the burger, and gave it a little chomp. Then, her chomps became bigger and bigger, and also faster and faster. By the time the owner finished chewing a single bite of her burger, she's already finished all of her fries. She also drank the coke in what seems to be one gulp, but it actually was multiple gulps, but it went by so fast that it looked like just one. At this point, the owner stopped eating her burger and just bore witness to what was happening in front of her eyes. The little girl then reached out to the owner's burger and snatched it from her hands, chowing it down with just a couple bites. She also took her fries and chewed through them all as she was drinking the owner's iced lemon tea.
As she finished, the little girl looked at her tray of empty food, and after that looked at the owner. Then, she got up and went over to the counter and pointed at another burger set to the counter employee, this one was the exact same set as the owner's. In the end, there were about 5 empty food trays on the table in front of the little girl. Although her pockets were almost empty, the owner couldn't help but gave out a little smile.
