Leone POV

My phone flashed just as Marcus pulled up to the gate, where a few other black SUVs followed behind.

I pulled it out, reading the screen. Seeing that I had few missed calls and messages from Allison

Mrs. Russo: Please come back home

Mrs. Russo: Leone

Mrs. Russo: Please don't do anything stupid

Mrs. Russo: She's not worth it Leone.

I sighed deciding whether or not I should respond.

I quickly typed up a message before resting the phone in my lap.

Me: I will be home soon, my love. Get some rest. I love you.

This needed to be done.

Oddly, it felt strange being back here. I haven't been to this house in ages

I rolled the window down leaning slightly forward to enter the gate code and surprisingly it worked.

The code was the day of when Aurora and I met.

Never thought she should have kept it that way

Weird.

Once we pulled into the driveway and in front of the house, I wasted no time stepping out of the vehicle.

Adjusting my jacket and my gun that was placed behind my back as well as resting my phone back in my pocket.

I walked up to the front door, turning the doorknob without knocking.

There was no need to

My privacy was invaded, so why should I even care about hers.

I stood in the middle of the place I once called home -
It felt completely strange

"Spread out and search this place from top to bottom," I said, looking around.

"If anyone is here shoot to kill but I want Aurora alive".

I think I was being generous enough to not kill her that day in my office.

But people tend to have this thing where they mistake your kindness for weakness.

And that was my faulting for sparing her.

"Understood?"

"Yes, boss," they all said in unison.

I pulled my gun from behind as I walked through the house, searching every corner, every bit of it.

Being here was nauseating

Nothing seemed to have changed, everything was still the same.

Pictures and paintings of us still up on the walls, the decor still the same as well as the furniture still being the same.

Not a single thing was moved or touched - it seemed as if no one was even living here.

I continued to walk through the house, which led me to the patio and into the backyard just as I felt my phone vibrating.

I pulled it out of my pocket, placing it to my ears without even sparing a glance at the screen.

It was silent for a few minutes before I heard her voice on the other end.

"Hello my love, how do you like the place? I kept it just the way you liked it."

How did she even know that I was here - I made sure to have the guys scrub the place for any cameras before we got here.
