Chp 42 - Nico's POV

Nico's Flashback

Nico was sitting on the grass, hugging his knees and rocking his body slightly.

"Hey, kid! What are you doing here?"

Nico raised his head to look at the old man, wearing dirty clothes and a faded cap.

"I'm thinking"

"And the cemetery is a good place to think?"

"It's if I'm grieving too"

The gravedigger nodded his head.

"Okay, I'll leave you alone now"

Finally!

Nico...

I don't wanna hear it!

WHAT exactly are you grieving?

Nico?

NICO!

What!?

What are you grieving? Your friend is not dead, he's only a girl.

You don't understand!

Then help me to! Please!

You wouldn't understand...

Maybe I would. I can try to. You just need to give me a chance.

I... can't.

Nico was at his lockers, when a football player passed, elbowed him in the back, causing him to hit his nose in the locker's door.

OK, THAT'S IT!

NICO! DON'T!

Nico ran after the player, grabbed his arm, made him turn, and punched him square in the jaw, with a little difficult since he was shorter. The pain shot through his arm, and he shook his hand, trying to dissipate it.

I think I just broke my hand. Your hand.

RUN!

Nico looked up and saw the guy he hit recovering too quick from the punch, and was about to run away when he felt the guy take a hold of his collar, and throw him against the lockers. The impact made the air leave his lungs, the side of his body hurt and he began to slide to the floor. Before he could stand up properly by himself, the guy pulled him by the front of his shirt, letting him almost suspended, with only the tips of his feet touching the ground.

We're so going to die!

"You wanna fight, Nanny McPhee? That's what you wanna do?"

He felt a punch in his stomach, and would have doubled over, if wasn't for the iron grip on his shirt keeping him standing.

"I think you wanna get beaten up. I can help you with that"

Nico refused to close his eyes, and kept staring at his bully, with all the hate he could muster. The guy closed his fist.

"Let me teach you a lesson..."
