Leo's Flashback
TUESDAY
"What are you doing?"
"HEPHAESTUS' HAMMER! OW!"
Leo rubbed his hand over his forehead, where he hit when the boy's voice startled him. He looked to the side, where a young boy was crouching to look under the car, at Leo.
"What are you doing?"
"Hum... fixing the car?"
"Are you good at it?"
"Yes?"
"Then can you teach me? I need to fix my car."
Leo raises his eyebrows.
His car?
What is he talking about?
Leo slided to get out from under the car, so he could talk to the Indian chubby boy, who looked 9 years old at most, and was excitedly waiting beside the car.
"You said you need to fix your car? You mean your dad's car?"
"No, my car."
He shrugged a stripe from his shoulder and opened the Justice League themed backpack to pull an electric car to show Leo.
Ah!
Leo crouched to get a better look at it.
"Is this your car?"
The little boy nodded and pouted.
"It broke. Dad said he was going to fix it, but he didn't. And he couldn't, he doesn't know how to fix cars. But you do, right!?"
The boy's expression was so hopeful that even if Leo couldn't fix it, he would find someone who could, anything to not make that smile turn into a frown.
"Yeah, I can. Do you want me to fix it?"
He offered his hand so the boy could hand over the car, but he just hugged it tight.
"No!"
"Why?"
"I want you to teach me how to fix it. If it breaks again, I want to fix it."
Leo hesitated.
"It's not that easy. I don't know what the problem could be. You know doctors?"
He nodded.
"Well, when you're sick, they look at your nose, throat, etc, right? Well, he knows how each body of your part should be working, so he can see when one of it is malfunctioning. To teach you how to fix it, I would have to first to teach you about each part of your car. Are you up to the challenge?"
"Yes!"
"Hum, Leo? Where did this kid come from?"
Ryan was looking a little dazzled to his new mini friend.
"No idea, but he's my apprentice from now on."
"Apprentice? Of what?"
"Electronics, mostly."
"Did his parents agree with it?"
Well, if his parents were around...
"I have no idea where or who they are."
