Sierra's POV

A/N: TA-DAAAAAM!!! Ok, a few things first, I absolutely LOVE this chapter because it features two of favorites characters, and I LOVE their history together. This chapter has been ready since three or four weeks ago. This is going to be a series of flashbacks from Sierra's past, since she was a kid. Let me know in the end what you thought of it. And no, this isn't really important for the plot, except I love Sierra, and I'm the author, so deal with it.

*Warning* Long chapter ahead, around 9k words.

Sierra's Flashback

- Sierra, 11yo -

"I. HATE. YOU!"

"Sierra! To your room!"

Sierra ran from her father, slamming the door behind her and locking it. It has been four months he decided to pursue a political career, and her life went downhill. She couldn't say anything without her father criticizing. Nothing she did was good enough. She ran to her bed and threw her pillow away, looking at the album she kept under it. Her mom photos. She cried harder.

"I wish we had had time together. I'm sorry I killed you!"

Her mother had died from birth complications, since no doctor detected a condition in her heart previously to Sierra's birth. She retrieved her pillow from the floor and hugged it tight.

"I hate dad. I wished I was with you..."

She cried herself to sleep that night. Like she did every week.

***

"Where are we going?"

"To see your aunt. You're staying some time with her."

***

Sierra watched her dad drive his car off, leaving her with a cold aunt. She blinked so she wouldn't cry, and followed Aunt Jenna to her room. She cried that night, but not even that was enough to make her fall asleep.

***

"You've been there long enough, Sierra. Drop this phone and go do something useful."

"But Aunt, it has been two months! I have to call dad, school is starting any day now!"

"I know, and you're going, Sierra."

"How am I going to school if I'm HERE and not THERE?"

"You're going to school here, the same one I work."

"... W-what? But... my school is there. My FRIENDS are there!"

"You can make new friends."

"But why can't I stay with my friends?"

"You father didn't tell you? He wants you to live with me for now."

"... For now? How MUCH is 'for now'?"

"Ask your father."

"I WOULD IF HE ACCEPTED MY CALLS, WHICH HE DOESN'T!"

"Not my problem."

***

She jumped out of her window. Her father didn't want her, so he dropped her with his sister. Her aunt also didn't want her. That's fine. She didn't want them either. Or needed them, for that matter. She packed some clothes, snacks and her allowance money. She didn't need them, she could do fine on her own.

***

She wasn't fine. That guy kept following her. It didn't matter how random she walked, he was always close on her tail. Should she ask for help? No, adults would take her back to those who didn't want her. She was smart. And she was tough. She could deal with that guy.
