Calculus was totally, utterly, boring. Beowulf, Aviya, and not even Niles, were in that class with me. So depressing. As if math didn't suck on its own already. To make matters worse the teacher is a droner too. No friends, sucky ass class, and a droner for a teacher. What a great combo. I'm already loving it! Note the heavy sarcasm.

You can imagine the immense joy the bell brought to me. Lunch. My favorite time of the school day (dinner has to be my favorite meal time.) Lunch means a break from droner teachers. A break from annoying hormonal teenagers. A time to fill my always hungry stomach. And most of all, it is the time to spend freely with friends.

I sigh heavily as I dump my books into my locker. I could smell Beowulf before I even saw him walking towards me. His scent is too toxic not to notice, which causes my inner wolf to stir.

"Hey, Newbie," He says as he gets closer to me. I catch a few heads following his every move like lost puppies. I have to swallow back my growl of jealousy.

"Hey to you too," I say as I shut my locker.

"Niles won't shut the fuck up about where you're going to sit for lunch." My stomach flutters. "He wants me to be nice and invite you to sit with us today."

"Well," I say with a smile. "Since you asked so kindly, I would love to sit with you and the blond one you call Niles."

"Great, follow me," He turns on his heel to leave.

"Hey, mind showing me where the library is first? I have to pick up something." Or someone.

"Now? Can't it wait until after lunch?" He practically whines. I chuckle loudly as I follow him away from the smell of food.

"Yes now." I reply with a smile.

Beowulf sighs loudly. "I'm starving man. Do you know how much my body needs to keep itself going?"

"I can only imagine." I say with a chuckle.

"A lot. That's how much."

"That's highly a plausible answer." I laugh.

"Sure it is." Beowulf says as we round a corner to see a large set of wooden doors. He gestures to them with both his arms in a sweeping motion.

"I'll just be a moment." I promise as I push one of the doors open.

The scent of musty books hits me like a train. Oak and old books. Tables sit neatly in one corner of the library, while the shelves filled to the brim with books fill the rest of the place. I'm sure there is a librarian somewhere in here, I would just have to go through the maze of book shelves to find them. The room is surprisingly lit very well, (I was expecting a dark damp room, I guess I don't visit the library enough) with a massive window overlooking the back of the school.

It wasn't hard to spot Aviya sitting in a recliner by the massive window. She already has a book in her lap ready to take out her lunch.

"What are you doing?" I ask, startling her. She jumps, causing her book to fall to the floor. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." I apologize as I hurry to pick up the fallen book.

"I wasn't really sure you would come. I thought I would just wait a while to see if you kept your word or not." She says quietly, only it sounds like she is shouting since the room is so sparse of people.

"Now why in the world would I not keep my word? I was dead serious about wanting you to sit with me."

She sighs heavily. "I don't know, bud. I think I like it in here much better."
